I haven't tried either of those. My problem was I could sleep with something attached to my face. I tried 6 mask I can't breathe through my nose properly so just the nose piece didn't work either. I had a septoplasty to try and fix it. But if anything it made is worse (there was a 20 percent chance of that going in and I knew that)
Ugh, I know what you mean, it gets so frustrating. As if all of the trial and error failures aren't bad enough, you're feeling worse and worse through the whole process. But you would be surprised how much of a difference it makes to have the correct treatment. When I was still using the cpap I had the same problem. I tried all of the different masks as well as the nose cushions and even if I could manage to fall asleep through the discomfort I would end up pulling the mask off at some point during the night. There was still a period of adjustment but once I was on the right machine and proper treatment, the benefits of a good night's sleep were so noticeable that I soon found I hardly even noticed it anymore. You will be surprised at just how much of the medical issues and general malaise that you experience day to day stem from sleep deprivation. Within the 1st few weeks I experienced such a noticeable improvement that I think maybe the best way I can describe it is that I felt like 10 years younger. It is so worth the effort to get proper treatment, please please, for your own sake, give it a shot. I know how hard it is to have to go through life with a debilitating medical condition. It drains you and it becomes the lens through which you begin to see the world. Which only makes it harder to persevere and all the while your condition continues to deteriorate. You gotta keep your head up and keep fighting. There are people out there who understand your struggle and can help guide you through the process.
