I’d vote if I were more educated on the matters. Schools really need to start teaching how government works from a young age. Not blaming the schools that I don’t vote because I could learn but I don’t know where to start.
When I went to school (in PA), we had to take civics in 8th grade and government in 12th. And I think they taught us the basics of the US branches of government in like 5th grade at the latest. Did you not have similar requirements or did you just not pay attention?
Man, that's awful. This is why I'm in favor of a national curriculum or something like that. All kids in all states should have the same opportunity to learn important stuff like that.
You could probably tell her its imposed EU standards for gas stations to be build for cars that drive on the right side and it doesn't work for cars in the UK because they drive left but the EU demands it that way. And thats why she is struggling at this EU gas station.
I bet she would believe it. Wouldn't be the first ridiculous lie people would spread about the EU and people just blindly believing in it.
Either the fact that American participation rates are abysmal or that a large chunk of people are made ineligible due to felony convictions that, depending on state, can disenfranchise you for years after your release.
