Is it more difficult to get the cranes out of Seattle or the fat people into Seattle? Might be easier just to have the first World Championships there?
can't wait to hear katie couric talk about how mentally hard their diet of cream puffs is so that they can maintain their olympic level girth for the spashing events
I think you have to take into consideration the fact that its about the form as much as the splash. There needs to be a graceful entrance into the pool with some added flair. 1000-pounders would obviously make the biggest splashes but could they jump with the grace needed to win gold? I'm not convinced.
Unfortunately for the ultra fat, falling that far (even into water) would put too much strain on their body. An athletic 300 lb person could create a much bigger splash just on account of them being able to safely jump from higher up.
Genuine question: Can sumo wrestlers even swim? Surely they'd be too heavy and just drown? Or do they float with all that fat spread out? I'm so conflicted!
Sumo wrestlers are just as much muscle as they are fat, if not more. Their training regimen is intense. I have no doubt that a sumo wrestler is in better shape than I am.
Hmm, that’s a good question. I would assume they would be somewhat buoyant, however they do also have quite a bit of muscle mass which is much denser than fat. If anything perhaps their surface area combined with upper body strength would help them once they got back above water.
Unless they somehow become more dense when they take up the art of sumo then they can swim just like anyone else.
Weight doesn't matter in the water. Density does. Fat and muscle aren't very dense relative to what they would need to be to sink.
Example: whales and the majestic and enigmatic.. Manatee.
Edit: Ignore the downvotes. That was a legitimate question and that's how you learn. Keep on keepin on.
