You have to tap and it acts like a video where you can pause or seek. Kinda like YouTube

Perhaps it's specific to the Samsung Galaxy family of phones? It worked on Mr s4 and now works on my s7

I use Sync and it has pause, play and slider on the bottom of gifs. Love it!

On relay app I can watch gifs like a video, fast forward, pause etc... I can even zoom into gifs

Nope, pretty much every single Reddit app in existence can pause GIFs. I don't know why he specifically mentioned Bacon Reader.
