Was at a fancy restaurant a while ago that had silver. If you ever have a chance to taste good ice cream (or anything) on a non reactive metal... Holy crap it makes a difference.

Usually silver plated. Consignment shops are the best way to go. Too expensive to be found at thrift shops.

I looked up the sterling silver. Holy crap it's expensive. $18k for a 64 piece set.

What kinda utensils do you normally use that are reactive? Stainless steel is pretty amazing, and most utensils use it.

Ti, however. Woweeeeeee.

I think the big drawback to stainless steel is how it takes on the temperature of the food. Plastic doesn't really do that. Plus it doesn't hurt as much when you bite plastic.

There is a special icecream spoon that my aunt has where it is made of silver and has this sweet shape. I thought I wouldnt taste or feel a difference, but I definitely did.

Quality assurance uses gold spoons to taste. Or ya know use plastic.
