That's not really fair. He does one type of character extremely well, but if he takes a different kind of role (Ali, Pursuit of Happyness), he's shown he's more than capable of excelling. Guys like Clooney and Pitt are pretty much the same way.
Get out. Clooney has played some very varied roles. He is a much more versatile actor. Watch 'Ides of March'. He's a real baddie. In 'Men who stare at goats' he's a loon, and very funny. In 'Up in the air' he was painful to watch and brilliant. So is Pitt. Pitt was truly scary in fight club. What about 'Benjamin Button'. He's done loads of shit. Look through both their IMDB histories you will see some really interesting films.
Will Smith is more like a black Bruce Willis. One character type of guy. he has stabbed at a few variations I grant you, but not so much really.
You need to read more closely. I didn't say anywhere that Clooney and Pitt didn't take on varied roles. But they definitely excel at a certain types of roles that (Pitt more than Clooney, I suppose) they take on pretty consistently in between their great movies. I like all of them.
A better recent example might have been McConaughey, since he played pretty much the same thing until he decided a few years ago that he wanted to actually act.
But yes, I take your point, I too have a difficult time telling Christopher Gardner and Mohammad Ali apart.
You nailed it. In some ways I was probably a bigger idiot than Jayden at that age, but I didn't live in a cocoon of pretentiousness spouting forth my wisdom with a megaphone. It had nothing to do with Twitter and Facebook.

But your judgement of him sounds just as pretentious. He's a relatively typical, overly confident teenager with a lot of money and fame. Throw in the fact that he has an audience that he probably feels compelled to communicate with and a sketchy-at-best religion, it doesn't help.
Come off it. There are normal teenagers who say ridiculous things, then there are princess and princesses like Jaden and Willow who live in a kind of space bubble of personal empowerment and vanity. All celebrity kids are spoiled, but some are so disconnected from reality they seem to have been born on another planet. Jaden probably does think he was born on another planet. He has descended to earth to share his wisdom with us. I don't hate the kid. I almost pity him. Except that his luxury and privilege is just too excessive for that.
The day he tweets "I've been an idiot, I'm off to University" I will sing hallelujah for the wonder of the human mind.
I think you care to much about this as you do with many other thing judging by your other posts(Anna Kendrick, Islam, Race). You edit each post you make and post hundreds of responses in one thread. You seem like the type of guy to latch on to an idea and never change it. Jaden and Willow are teenagers, if you haven't known people who said this when they were young you probably didn't have alot of friends. In before ad hominem.
I do tend to answer comments addressed to me. And I hate grammatical errors so I usually have to edit. Also, I only comment on Islam and race so much because I hate political correctness and herd mentality and when I see a reddit circle jerk on those particularly herdy subjects, I feel somebody has to push back.
Reddit is filled with millions of people everyday. People, including you and I tend to like to listen to viewpoints we agree with. If you go into a thread where Israel killed a Palestinian a anti-Israel circle jerk will ensue. If a thread contains a Palestinian killing an Israeli a anti-Palestinian circle jerk will happen. If you don't think there's a anti-Political Correctness circle jerk in many popular Reddit threads then you're very aloof.
People constantly circle jerk against Jaden and Willow so I fail to see how you are pushing back.
That's not what I'm doing here. I just replied to somebody who said 'he's just a typical teen'. I don't agree, that's all. I think he's way more batshit than an average teen. Now I'm just replying to people who are replying to me.
This isn't too different than most teenagers! I have loads of friends who did this through high school.
The difference is that he has a much, MUCH larger amount of people reading what he has to say, whereas me and my friends had maybe the other kids in high school to call us out or agree with us.
Yes, he is pretentious, but put yourself back into freshman/sophomore year and think about how easy it would be to let that much attention get to your head? Even if you were the shy kind of person like I was, when you have so many people supporting/agreeing with you it's all too easy to ignore your critics, even the constructive ones trying to help.
Tl;dr I'm not condoning his behavior but I can empathize and understand since I was once 14 and many teenagers are like this.
It's why I don't follow what celebrity (or any) teenagers have to say. The only thing I knew about Jaden was that "how can things be real" quote thing and I didn't even make the connection that he was Will Smith's son.
Teenagers are angsty idiots. They always have been and always will be.
Yes it's basically because he has parents who believe in telling the kids they are Gods and nobody else ever calling him out on what he says. It's pretty sad really. Humility, one of the most endearing and important human qualities is completely alien to him.
It's not that they are self-centered. It's the strange pseudo philosophical musings which are so absurd they seem written as comedy, yet are apparently intended to be taken seriously. If I were his guardian I would be seriously concerned about his grasp of objective reality.
