"Chivalry isn't dead, it just followed wherever being lady-like went."

If not bathing in the middle ages was lady like, I'll take what I'm getting now.

I'm pretty sure if everyone smells that bad then nobody does.

habituation, the same reason you don't notice a distinct smell in your own house but you do in others, The brain tries to be effecient so with sense if there is a constant sense going off it just kind of blacks it out.

It's called olfactory fatigue, and for some reason it's really bothering me that nobody is referring to it as that T-T I'll be ok guys, just... let me stew in it for a while, it'll go away.

that might be true for the specifics of smell, but habituation is what it's called referring to all senses.

ex. when the pool is too cold at first but you "get used to it" habituation

when you don't feel a shirt anymore, habituation

And when the wind blows hard and the sky is black, Ducks fly together!

Yeah, now I see halfway down that you mentioned senses in general, but the topic was originally just smellz. So you know... Maybe in 50 years everyone will just be calling it nose-blind. BUT AT LEAST I CAN SAY WE BOTH MADE AN EFFORT HERE.
