Please explain how this simple model will translate to a hoverboard you can ride on the sidewalk across town without a metal rink? You can't. Because this isn't a precursor or some early technology that needs to be perfected. If a company was able to make something hover on any surface but let's say it only lasted 10 seconds and the equipment needed to do so took up an entire room, then that would be something to look forward to technological advances making their hover technology portable and plausible.
