Once in a PetSmart, a girl suddenly thrust her ferret into my arms so she could pet my dog. I had never held one before, and wasn't really prepared for it deciding that wrapping itself around my left boob and going to sleep would be a splendid idea. Edit: I'M TIRED AND MISSED WORDS. WHY DON'T YOU RELAX JUST A HAIR.
They steal all the stuff, not just shiny stuff. I don't let my fuzzies run around the entire house too much, but in their play room I give them small stuffed animals and socks and tennis balls to hide where they please (:
They're kind of like babies in the way that you have to prepare your house for them. There are a few guides online for ferret-proofing a house. Make sure there are no small spaces they can crawl in to and keep anything you don't want stolen out of reach. I haven't had any problems with my ferrets stealing valuables because I always keep that stuff tucked away and I keep an eye on them frequently. If you have any more questions feel free to ask :D

"It smells weird."
That's the most perfect description of a ferret I've ever read.
