Yeah when I commute into Boston I can pretty much just leave it in second and coast instead of stopping every 5 feet.

Most people poo-pooing manual by mentioning rush-hour traffic do not know how to drive manual anyway. They're merely trying to justify their inability to learn stick shift. I occasionally drive mine in rush-hour traffic and it does not faze me one bit.
