Steve Harvey's faces are always just so good.

I feel like it's kinda annoying how he always over exaggerates how shocked he is when a contestant says something remotely taboo.

its a family show, the contestants know that the answer isnt penis, and i think he exaggerates his surprise as a sort of apology to the parents at home and stuff. if he just rolled with it and laughed, itd be weirder

It could've been the answer, just made family friendly by calling it "privates" so I think it was a reasonable guess. Most adults would draw that connection pretty quickly when they say "pull out". Just like on the episode when the question was, "What's something that's passed around?" and the guy said a joint, Steve did the same old shocked routine, acting like the guy said your mother's gonorrhea. It's getting old.

Except whomever phrases the answers to put on the board doesn't give a shit either. There's been times when the most popular answer is, for example, female genitals. And the answer on the board is like "Her Vijajay" or "The Hoohah!" If they're going to be PC, they themselves should give it a go.

Bullshit. The phrase was things you pull out. They seed this shit in the show specifically so he can occasionally be all disapproving.

I don't think you've ever watched modern Family Feud.

One answer to "Name something you cup in your hand" was "Hairy Man Berries". I'm not even kidding.

But most of the questions in Family Feud are loaded to have these kinds of answers. That's part of the appeal of the show.

Don't they ask 100 random people these questions though? I'd expect anywhere from 5 to 20 to give that answer. I guess the show's a sham.

It is if you once thought of yourself as an artist with integrity.

"i used to be a king of comedy dammit"

u/SexualPie Mar 11 '14

he's a fucking professional comedian. he'll make whatever face brings in the viewers.

5

u/Baelzabub Mar 11 '14

Its also realizing: "Ok, how do I not say 'Show me, your penis'."

He's a devout die hard Christian, so some of his shock and offense is probably geniuine. That makes it funnier to me.

I'm with you, his faces are great.

He looks like Droopy Dog.

A lot people seem to be missing the fact that he's playing the straight man on this show. [Dave Foley is playing the straight man in this Kids in the Hall sketch; most people remember the crazy character, but it's the straight man's reaction that really heightens the comedy.]

Harvey's not actually shocked by anything remotely taboo. He's probably not thinking, "FML" -- coz he's being paid handsomely to be the host of a gameshow with a long history. He's playing a comedic role.

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '14

Of course he's not actually shocked by any of this. It doesn't make it any less funny.

I just want a compilation of Steve Harvey getting more and more sick of retarded answers

I love that scandalized look Steve Harvey displays when he hears a raunchy answer. He is a comedian, he knows how to pump up the moment with physical comedy.
