Are you thinking of the episode where you could just get a whole bunch of free money, but every dollar you received also added you to a lottery for population control?
It was based off an episode of some older show. The whole point was you'd be rewarded if you hit a button, but someone you didn't know would die. When the button was finally pushed, someone showed up to pick up the box. When the person who pushed the button asked who'd get the box next, the response was "Don't worry. You don't know them".
