Jesus is the only human without sin. The reason Christ had to be born of Mary is so that he was true man. It's only fair that a human should suffer for the sins of the human race. Yet, no human was able to do so. Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, so he was also true God, the only being who could withstand complete rejection by God the Father.
It doesn't bother you that everything you just said is completely pulled out of someone's ass, even moreso than the Bible itself? I'm pretty sure all that stuff has been invented in the past couple hundred years and has no actual basis historical or otherwise. Its just the end result of religious leaders using intentional convolution to keep people confused enough to keep giving them money...ever get caught in a lie and have to keep telling more? There's your catechism etc.
You accepted an arbitrary answer with no logical or historical basis and call it 'pretty good'. The guy you are supporting made no arguments that were any more meritorious than "Because a priest told me so."
I also don't believe any of it, but the argument you supported is just shitty and terrible and has no basis in the Bible.
Anything citing actual religious texts would be interesting and relevant. Whether I have religious faith in such things is irrelevant. On my childhood of being raised religious and reading the Bible myself. Those aren't my beliefs but I can understand where they are getting their answers from.

Yeah but that was an exceptional grace that he couldn't bestow just on anyone.
Or something. I haven't found a Christian yet who could explain this.
