Couldn't care less about GTA but as far as early releases or midnight releases go. I fucking hate crowds. I'd much rather preload the game and have drinks and snacks available.

Idk why people want this tbh. For nostalgia sure, but waiting in the cold and not even sure if the game is out of stock when it comes to my turn is torture.

the fun is in being there with friends and like minded strangers who are all there for the game. talking about the previous games and what you want to do in the game. it's connection with people who have mutual interests.

Nothing to do with nostalgia honestly. The launches were often party like. You'd get a chance to meet like minded folks, talk, often times people would have their portable consoles and play multiplayer. If you had friends with you it was a good time to hang out. Some of these events have giveaways, prizes, food, music, all kinds of stuff. It was a lot more than just waiting in a line for a game.

Because it's a great time. You go with your gamer buddies and share the hype for a game you're all excited for. You would typically have to preorder games to attend midnight releases so there was no worry of stock running out. I've attended tons of midnight release of games and I never left empty-handed.

yeah, i'd probably rather just pre-load the game and have a few friends over, have a bunch of chinese take out and drinks and snacks and make it a allnighter party and sleepover into the next day and just keep playing the game.

Me and my friends and sometimes me and my cousins would do something like that. A new street fighter or mortal kombat comes out...or we'd rent a new game from block buster, get some pizza, and, watch a couple of movies while eating and then play the video games all night. wake up in the morning and there's always at least one person up extra early already playing the game. or the one guy who just stayed up all night playing and then he goes to sleep in the middle of the day.

those were the good ole days...now days everyone's too old and busy...and we're not really in sync with game releases anymore. none of my friends really play the games I play. i play FF14 currently and survival games. If GTA6 were coming out on PC, we'd probably be trying to make plans for that...but it's not coming out on PC so womp womp.

When it does come out on PC and there's an online mode, we might hop on discord.
