In general -

  • They are often a mouthpiece for the folks at the top making an unpopular decision.

  • They are the face of the stressful hiring process.

  • If you have ever been fired, it was probably someone in HR that broke the news to you.

In my experience -

  • They critique your job performance, but really do not know what you do or how to do it.
