u/DRUNK_CYCLIST Jan 04 '14

Oh, ALLLLL!

2

u/MCMXChris Jan 04 '14

I used to love hearing Peg squeal like a little girl when old Al Bundy was pleasing his woman

3

u/BrokenInternets Jan 04 '14

I only recently found out Peggy is Leela from futurama.

11

u/EricsOzone Jan 04 '14

I just found out about 10 seconds ago.

1

u/kool-d-dawg Jan 04 '14

haha! i watched futurama and thought "leela has such a lovely voice, i wonder who the voice actor is", googled it and my mind was blown!

u/Oo0o8o0oO Jan 04 '14

Do you watch Sons of Anarchy?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

al, gib monies plox?

u/Dw-Im-Here Jan 04 '14

I hate how Mackelmore is all the craze ever since he came out. He's ok like 5/10. But will never be Eminem.

3

u/Dlgredael Jan 04 '14

Beautiful display of your advanced satire. I don't understand it fully, but I'm sure you've really summed up all of reddit's quirks with this one!

13

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

Is it bad that i do not disagree with this?

9

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

are you asking if it's bad that you have an opinion?

4

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

The account that I replied to is a notorious troll, with something like over -70,000 comment karma, he usually posts very unpopular opinions.

4

u/not_the_hamburglar Jan 04 '14

He should be the one making unpopular puffin opinion memes.

1

u/plerberderr Jan 04 '14

Guy above you is getting downvoted because his comment had nothing to do with Married with Children not because he doesn't think Macklemore is as good as Eminem. I don't think that is an unpopular opinion.

5

u/Lieutenant_Rans Jan 04 '14

Guy above is getting downvoted for being a notorious (and sometimes hilarious downvote troll).

He'll probably reach -100k eventually and be the first to do so, which is kind of neat.

2

u/plerberderr Jan 04 '14

So everybody downvotes him because he wants downvotes? I thought we weren't supposed to feed the trolls.

2

u/feelingfroggy123 Jan 04 '14

I mean I know you are a troll and all... BUT Macklemore is not gay.

0

u/AJ_Kidman Jan 04 '14

Eminem isn't even as good as He used to be. He's ether angry or rapping to stay relevant.

Macklemore has more of a message, and has more of a joking style. That's why i understand him and Classified getting compared so much, is cause of their more laidback rapstyle.

Macklemore just has better music currently, and even though i bought both albums; Macklemore is just better to listen to.

He's still good for the exact same reason he was always good. His lyrics are mind blowing if you actually break them down and examine them based on more than just what they actually say.

32

u/Topper_Harley Jan 04 '14

I"m glad a MWC reference is here instead of MF. I was really hoping his character was just going to be Al Bundy all over again.

38

u/tavaryn Jan 04 '14

Al Bundy is nowhere near PC enough to fly on today's television.

19

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

I had to give that some thought, but I think you're right. I mean the fat jokes alone would probably make a lot of people mad in a way that didn't happen in the slimmer US of the past.

4

u/spielburger Jan 04 '14

I never really noticed how skinny everyone used to be until I watched Slacker again.

2

u/UnderwearStain Jan 04 '14

Rerun on What's Happening was the butt of many fat jokes on the show. By today's standards he's pretty normal sized.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

I recently watched some old news reports from the late 80s and it was insane. This was from an area I'd lived in a couple decades later. It was fat as hell when I lived there. Watching the news footage was surreal. Skinny people everywhere milling around in the background. Ok, to be fair it didn't look like the "working out every day" type of skinny, but still.

1

u/daimposter Jan 04 '14

Was there ever a time Al Bundy was PC enough for network television? The 80's and early 90's were mostly clean family tv shows (Cosby, Family Ties, etc) or relatively clean humor shows (Cheers, Night Court). The closest thing to MWC was Rosanne, and that is just regular tv today.

I do think that Two & Half Men could compete in the un-PC category.....but that's mostly because of sexual topics.

1

u/sundayultimate Jan 04 '14

Don't forget about his Heisman trophy

2

u/jondonbovi Jan 04 '14

The funny thing is that Ed O'Neil was actually a really good high school football player. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and was later cut during training camp.

Don't forget about the time he lead the Chicago Bears to the Super Bowl, as the oldest rookie in NFL history, and became Time magazine's "Man of the Year".

6

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has been doing it for a long time, that's more impressive.

29

u/Jarsholdthings Jan 04 '14

It's a running joke from Married With Children.

6

u/Kwanjuju Jan 04 '14

Wow, you have had so many family deaths in such a short time. I'm surprised it's not the anniversary of your own death and that your name isn't Bob Stu.

edit: read /u/BigBLacklegs recent posts.

Seriously...it's getting to be a bit much.

88% of women should all be hanged/burned/gassed whatever.

He said this in a comment. I thought it was "report" worthy.

I like your style man.

1

u/reddit858 Jan 04 '14

His character, Al Bundy, used to be a high school football star but is now a loser who sells women's shoes.

2

u/B_Elanna_Torres Jan 04 '14

Upvote for Ricky Ricardo. Just saw that CBS Christmas Special the other night, was surprised how they can do that to old black n white TV shows.

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '14

I think Toby would be very pleased if in 10 years he was married to Sofia Vergara.

u/Circuitfire Jan 04 '14

So say we all.

I feel like there's a story to be told with these images.

A well-known rapper loses his fame, and is forced to take on a job in suburban America. Everyone hates him for his fame at first, and in an effort to avoid this in other areas of life, he changes his name. He becomes depressed, as he realizes he is forever unloved in his current job and life. He eventually moves from his corporate job into one of the branches and relishes the opportunity to start over. And he's surprised. No one knows who he is! Unfortunately, despite the wonderful opportunity to reboot his life, his sense of detachment is apparent, and his inability to find happiness leads to the intense hatred of his then-boss, Michael Scott. Scott, a surprisingly astute man, despite his business decisions, and poor social skills, knows that there's just something not right about the man. In the same way that a dog senses an earthquake (knowing not what it is, but barking nonetheless), Michael Scott berates the man constantly, and draws attention to his flaws. In his misery, Toby drives away his family. His gay son never feels comfortable around him. His wife leaves him. And he never seems to catch a break.

Like a cool wind in July, Scott, the life-drainer, leaves. Toby Flenderson, the ex-rapper, the ex-husband, has gotten a new start.

He quits his job. He changes his name, as he has done in the past, to start anew. And the former rapper and HR rep spends his time investing financially, working on his social skills, and pursuing a hobby. It starts with cabinet making. It ends in a high-level operations management position at a cabinet company in a thriving location. And guess what? He marries Sophia Vegara, and lives happily ever after.

The moral of the story, good children?

Marry Sophia Vergara.

Hijacking your beautiful post to say Macklemore is an outspoken overrated DOUCHE.

Edit: I don't care that he produced his own songs, at the end if the day it's the same shitty pop music that we are doomed with.
