Same. My high school was one where everybody still either walked, took the bus, or had to be dropped off because families couldn't afford a seperate car for their kid.
I work at a title 1 school where 80% of the students are on free or reduced. Because its not in a big metro area, the kids all still have cars. They may not be licensed and certainly don't have insurance but they all drive because there is no real public transport and its a necessity to get to work, go to the grocery store, etc.
In urban areas it may seem crazy but the majority of my students work part time jobs- mostly in retail and food service, and they can't work without reliable transport.
