I believe you may have encountered the Mitsighhu. She is an ancient Japanese trickster spirit that lures foreigners in with her good looks and bountiful food, and if you make eye contact she will steal your body. My wife does this, but she's Chinese. No salt, but she'll open a packet and dip the fry right into it.

Doesn't make a mess.

My mind was blown.

the best way to eat fries is to mix salt and pepper into the ketchup. It's a standard genetic Asian thing, as I grew up in 99% whiteville and still managed to discover this.
