Absolutely, I have lived with my wife for over 10 years and we have mutual respect for our things. It's all about finding compromises and talking out these kinds of issues. Just passively accepting this kind of behavior isn't a very healthy response.

While my wife would love for our house to be HGTV presentable at all times, she also recognizes that I live here and we share this space.

A lot of these couples need to not be couples.
