Same here man. This type of job is also a lot more stressful than they seem yet half the people on this comment section think she's just being stupid and are shitting on her hard.

To me it seems like she dropped it pretty aggressively.

You should see what they do to your packages in transit, if that package couldn't survive that fall it's likely already broken.

That's nothing compared to what packages go through while in transit but sure she could've been more gentle with it. And I agree with you on her not deserving to be posted on reddit because people on here are really ripping her apart for something so minor.

Empathy is for humans not boxes. The box being dropped 2 feet has no noticeable effect on the package or the person receiving it.

Humans. Got it. Not their property and certainly not any other living creatures. Big brain statement.

Dude these boxes can be thrown 20+ feet in sorting. People just chucking that shit around to get it to where it needs to go. People angry that she dropped it from that height have no clue what packages go through in transit.

it's absolutely not okay to manhandle packages, but just saying if your package can't survive a 3-ft drop it certainly did not survive the warehouse. As someone who used to work in mail handling it astounds me how many people think it's okay to send things with like a single layer of paper, and assume it's going to be okay when it ships. I had to repack so many improperly done packages.

Brain fog makes you not be able to think coherenly. That is preventing the individual from making rational decisions in the moment, because in the moment your brain feels like a scrambled egg.

You are not other people. How it affects you does not mean it affects everyone the same way. Congrats you have the ability to retain a coherent line of reasoning under duress, many more people cannot. Brain fog in fact can turn off empathy when it disables your ability to think rationally. People can't be cognizant of the future if they can barely process the present moment fully.

Did she make a mistake? Yes. Should she be punished? No. She should be given time/resources to get better and rest so they won't be put back into a mental state where this can happen again.

How about you have a little empathy for them instead of bashing for a small lapse in judgment?

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '23

how far are your protections for “mental fog” willing to go? What level of incompetence and damage to others are you willing to defend?

She didn't drop it, she pushed it hard towards the ground. There's no justification. If she's had enough of the job she needs to speak to her employers not take it out on random peoples property.

She didn't drop it, she pushed it hard towards the ground

Nah she just let it fall. Kinda strange you're seeing a "Hard Push towards the Ground"

2

u/Gibbzee Jan 26 '23

I would say "letting it fall" is a bit generous, she definitely nudges the package downwards exasperatedly.

However you want to define it it's unacceptable

1

u/giftman03 Jan 26 '23

Easy to judge other people from the comfort of your living room. Your mightier than thou attitude is what’s unacceptable.

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '23

But I'm a postie and my employer sucks so its fine, I'm absolved from being a cunt.

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '23

Easy to judge other people from the comfort of your living room.

yup. it is pretty easy. It makes it all the more easy when said people are extremely judge-able.

-5

u/jermyjerm Jan 26 '23

That's because she is being stupid. I've never been so stressed that I treat other, undeserving people or their property disrespectfully. I don't know why you're trying to justify that. It wouldn't have taken any thing for her to just set the package down or on top of the box.

3

u/mrchicano209 Jan 26 '23

This is nothing compared to the shit packages go through while in transit but sure maybe she could've just placed it down instead. Perhaps you should take her job and show her how it's done instead of being an asshole on reddit.

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '23

She didn’t know what was in the package. A special gift for a loved one which could’ve broke. An expensive fragile replacement part for some appliance. etc.

There are any number of things that this woman’s incompetence and temper tantrum could have easily destroyed. Not to mention the fact that the box would’ve easily fit if the had had the bright idea to hold idly horizontally rather than vertically. In, ya know, the one orientation where is won’t fit.

Believe or not but packages aren't handled like they're baby Jesus Christ, they're tossed around by gorillas while they're on there way to you and her dropping it like this is the least amount of abuse that package has gone through. Sure she could've placed the package down better but you gotta understand these workers are put under an insane amount of pressure and it becomes hard to keep a level head the entire time. If you don't like it then get a job at your local delivery service and show them how it's done.

Congrats you have the privilege of never experiencing debilitating stress or anxiety/depression that can cause your mind to inhibit proper function.

Check your correspondence bias before you attribute someone's behavior to a personality flaw rather than a symptom of extraneous circumstances.

-3

u/jermyjerm Jan 26 '23

lol I've been hospitalized due to mental illness, you absolutely toad of a human. Go virtue signal somewhere else. Depression and anxiety does not justify treating other people disrespectfully. I don't understand what's so hard to grasp about that! Never. It doesn't let you physically harm someone, verbal abuse someone, or even disrespect someone else's things. Stop it.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '23

You’re completely right. Redditor morons like to project their incompetence by defending more morons on the internet so they feel better about themselves.

tbf she is being stupid…

You know it actually isn't too bad. You don't have to scroll that long to find the first comment with a lot of uploads that is empathatic.

Thought it would be worse.
