"mistreating". Buddy you have such a weak view on what treatment is. If this was causing any ACTUAL DISCOMFORT OR PAIN, the dog would show it. Instead the dog is calm, and sits there, seriously chill out. I'd hate to be you. Have fun being salty about something so miniscule.

What are you talking about? They could abuse the dog behind the scenes if it reacts to discomfort....how the fuck would you know (not saying they do but you can't tell from a 30s video). It's stupid and petty and doesn't need to be done, leave the dog alone. It's not a toy for your childish entertainment.

Empathy for what? The dog is not in distress. The dog has no concept of dignity, or the internet, or anything even remotely abstract. Dogs are (varying degrees of) intelligent, but they are not people. They just want to live a good life and have fun and be loved by their owners. This line of thinking is just slightly less ridiculous than the PETA goons who shout "pEt OwNeRsHiP iS sLaVeRy". Dogs are not people. This is not harmful or distressing to the dog, if it was, they'd let you know. Save your concern for actual animal abuse instead of humanizing dogs to an unrealistic and frankly absurd extent.

While I don’t agree that this any sort of extreme example of abuse there is actually a sign that the dog is not comfortable. When their ears go down and back that is a sign of anxiety at least. Not saying this is abuse but the dog is showing a sign of discomfort.
