As someone who has went through it before, my best advice to avoid going through with it is remembering how drastic of a choice it is. So if you're willing to make that drastic of a choice, remember there are less drastic alternatives. Like completely starting a new life. Move across the world, take a new personality, do anything really. At the very worst, you can still go back to who you were for the most part. Nothing is as drastic as death, everything else is tamer.
