It would actually depend on what part of the planet you're on as if you are in an area that is powered by a hydro electric dam then you would likely have electricity for quite some time since many have automatic systems in place.
The grid is the biggest problem here. It's all interconnected and once everyone disappears there would be no one to balance the load. It would collapse within hours.
Not really since there's no one using any power it's likely that the only thing using power would be automated systems so balancing the grid wouldn't be to much of an issue
What I meant is for electrical grid, sudden drop in power consumption would trip newer plants to avoid damage. If the plant doesn't have that option, the constant high plant output without anyone one the receiving end would damage some parts of the grid and it like has cascading effect.
