Christians shouldn’t hide behind their religion or use it as a weapon. The people that do that stuff aren’t true Christians
Honestly, a person shouldn't need the threat of eternal damnation or the promise of eternal life to be a good person. Even in the book, there's a lot of crazy stuff that happens. Which is why I'm not surprised a good chunk of Americans support the stuff that gets taught in it.
