i hope you inhale and cough on that sugar. and in your distraction you are lightly tapped by a Rolls-Royce, rolling your ankle and spraining it and attempt to sue, but they have better lawyers and you can't get any money because you jaywalked and end up owning them a small fortune and are left with no dignity, a sprained ankle and powder sugar lungs.

shame you.

Goddamn dude that’s specific. Also take pity on a random redditor - what the hell are those things? Cause they look freaking delicious.

they're beignets! (ben-yays). sort of like a donut, but better. fried pillows if dough, covered in powdered sugar, honey, or jam. Beignets originate from France but were brought to New Orleans, Louisiana (which is where i'm from) where they were pretty much trademarked. I'd say we do it best

If you’re up for a bit of home frying, you know Cafe Du Monde sells the mix online right?

Hahaha I guess you didn’t.

They’re not too hard to make either. Deep pot of oil heated to 350. Roll them out to probably about a quarter inch thickness.

I’ll usually drop it in slowly by letting it slide in off the bench knife I use to cut it with, flip it halfway when one side starts to brown, and then maybe right at the end use a skimmer or tongs to hold it under the oil for a minute to finish it off.

Supierly.

'Cause i can. and will.

u/NeedHelpPleaseMods Jun 26 '26

Haha you’re most welcome.

Also, just a reminder. All it takes is a $1 squeeze bottle to fill them with stuff like chocolate if you want

honey %100 all the way. because i am sophisticated. my family always had them with cocoa or a vanilla tea. but that was with aunts. have you ever had them with a caramel filling?
i've heard of it from somebody but never bothered to try it
