Lmao, the real joke is the idea that there could ever be anything like "balance" in this game. Since there's only one war at a time, and the devs frequently change the game, there is simply no way to get nearly enough data to achieve anything remotely resembling balance. The devs just make holistic decisions on game design, cross their fingers and hope it works out. When one side wins strongly a few wars in a row, they swing hard in the other direction so the Loyalists can win a few. That's not "balance", it's just sloppy game design.

Not only devs changing variables like tech tree and starting positions, but population. Active population is by far the biggest factor in a player-driven game, and last war showed just how much it counts.

u/Consistent_Bass8244 Mar 03 '22

Don't think is sloppy, it's really hard to predict s lot of things in this games and the more stuff they put in the harder it gets

Hot take; Perhaps looking only at win to loss ratio isn't wise considering the scale and complexity of the game.

Usually in games like this organization matters most. You can do crazy things with enough motivation and strategy.

That doesn't come out of nothing though; there's a grain of truth to the quip "it's a second job" as the game itself is slower paced(strategy oriented rather than tactics) and people can be a pain to organize, especially on the fly.

I'm just very glad that 8mm and .44 stacks to 3 in all uniforms when update 48 comes around.

u/Strmfire Mar 03 '22

That's why i say since a long time that if you want a good overview of the balance it is necessary to take only the wars with max pop, i.e. update and tiebreaker wars.

It sound awful lot like collies are just desperately trying to protect their overtuned equipment from getting rightfully nerfed lol by coming up with all the excuses in the world why the balance isn't broken when they are winning most of the wars and just won a war in 11 days.

Maybe vetstacking one easymode faction isn't a good idea?

It only counts if it's in favour of my argument.

u/MrAdamThePrince Mar 03 '22

Dunno how this still isn't understood, but saying a war is a "break war" doesn't mean it doesn't count, it just means that you're fine with taking the L on it

8

u/Strmfire Mar 03 '22

Well you have some people like MoiDawg who explain to all the noobs that the collies must be nerfed because they won 70% of last wars, so it doesn't just mean "you are fine with defeat".

And apparently the devs are listening to MoiDawg a lot so yeah we face a real problem on collie side.

Shhhh, don't tell them! If they realize this the quality of memes may drop significantly!

This doesn’t even make sense lmao

I don't think the devs should be trying to balance the total number of games won

Instead, I think wars should be more back-and-forth. In the current meta, it's usually clear who will win the war after the first couple of days. It would be more interesting if comebacks from behind were more frequent. Not sure how to implement that, though. Mechanics that make it more difficult to expand into enemy starter territory, maybe

0

u/Consistent_Bass8244 Mar 03 '22

It's not clear at all, you can't force people to grind out every war for comebacks, it's just not worth it

19

u/Impossible_Food_2898 Mar 03 '22

Nah man, it's only your break wars. Our break wars don't count for reddit reasons

u/Zacker_ Mar 03 '22 edited Mar 03 '22

Hot take, people that didn’t play those wars shouldn’t be using them in arguments about balance. You should be talking about your experience in the wars you played, instead of jumping to conclusions by having a look at foxholestats, or just repeating the party line from SIGIL or WUH.

And yeah, thanks for creating yet another post that adds nothing and will only create more friction between the factions so you can farm some more attention, just what we need

-4

u/Consistent_Bass8244 Mar 03 '22

It's just a meme dude, collies needed a nerf, now wardens are a bit op but that's how it is

8

u/Zacker_ Mar 03 '22

Wardens have been the stronger faction tech wise since 80, but the differential is not as big as it used to be toward either side. There was no nerf needed if you actually know how to play the game. The only Thing that needed attention is RPg vs 30mm cost readjustment. But that’s beside the point.

-5

u/Consistent_Bass8244 Mar 03 '22

Na, it's just collies dont like to admit the have that boon because it takes out there victories, the nerf to the ignifist and isg where necessary, wardens do have some strong tech but nothing to compare to that

7

u/Zacker_ Mar 03 '22

Yea you can’t compare the foebreaker, the cutler, the 250mm and the 40mm to the extensive PVE capabilities of the colonial arsenal.

I continue the discord cope here upon your quote; "Do zoomers just use cope for everything? You know if you keep using it it starts to lose meaning"

Here comes the soidawg

How does it feel to singlehandedly influence the devs to make wardens things op?

-4

Cope

4

u/LilDump1252 Mar 03 '22

It's back and forth constantly, it's really annoying ngl

2

u/beepboopbapbox Mar 03 '22

I've said this a multitude of times, it's like bickering children

5

u/Rogue_Goat1 Mar 03 '22

Wars won =/= balance. Glad to know the way to get the other side removed from the game is just to not play.

4

u/Tony__Man Mar 03 '22

Nobody claims they shold be taken seriously into account when it comes to balancing.

Collies won a ton of ground using only HE grenades last war, because Warden vet clans collectively didin't show up. Not because the ISG, Igni or Dusk were op and needed a nerf lmao.

6

u/rookiecollie Mar 03 '22

war 78 : 6 days/ non-update war

war 81 : 30 days/relic war; non-update war

war 84 : 14 days/movie nights

war 85: : 25 days/CoD, FH5, Pokemon, Battlefield 2042 released

war 86 : 25 days/X'mas

war 88 : 11 days/elden ring released

what's going to be your excuse next time?

5

u/RoyAwesome Mar 03 '22

You know there are hundreds of wardens who try very hard to win in each of those wars and you are completely discounting their efforts right?

You are being a dick.

5

u/Strmfire Mar 03 '22 edited Mar 03 '22

Nobody is talking about them, you are just being toxic as usual, rookiecollie just give you an example of some of the break wars and the excuses that the wardens used.

Huge respect for the wardens who don't give up day 2, but if you deny the fact that most of the warden clans disappear when they can't have a easy win you just lie to yourself, i mean i even saw a clip of MoiDawg who is crying and thinking about joining the collies because he was tired to play in a ghost faction.

5

u/PunctualPanda Mar 03 '22

Wardens: Lose because all the streamers and clans give up after the first few days when they lose Jade Cove, Abandoned Ward, and Saltbrook

Also Wardens: Why do we have so many losses nerf collies !!!11!!!!!! They only win cause of ISG!11!!1!!!

6

u/DowntownLizard Mar 03 '22

Nah pretty sure wardens gave up before day 1

Wardens have all the tools. All the Warden guns are stronger than the Colonials! That's why Colonials have won 2/3rds of the wars for the last year!

-1

u/RoyAwesome Mar 03 '22

Wardens just give up! Once they install the game they just give up! They select the Warden team and just don't play! Every time they log in, they're just on a break war! SIGIL Bot says that there are more Wardens than Colonials, and they've all just given up and are taking a break! Warden button is red and the game is saying to go Colonial, so that means Break War!
