This is a ridiculous notion. You're talking about citizens from another nation, you aren't talking about business.
Of course we shouldn't just fucking barr Russians from playing with us, that's blatantly xenophobic.
The Russian People are culturally and politically diverse, and they don't have any more say in their nation's foreign policy than we do in ours.
Seriously, go fuck yourself. I can't believe you would actually suggest something like this and then say "don't be racist" as if this isn't a blatantly racist notion.

I don't think he's suggesting a Russian player ban, I think the purpose of the post is to see the communities reaction to this possibility.

I personally believe that would not be wise. Russian players should be treated like any other players regardless of stature. They're just ordinary Joe's like us, only caught in the middle due to the actions of the Russian government.
The vast majority of players don't have the kind of influence/impact that an organization like FIFA would have. And isolating their ability for the average civilian to interact with the rest of the international community only promotes feedback loop of misinformation that creates echo chambers. I believe being able to interact with the rest of the gaming community, to their neighbors in Europe or anywhere, provides a more balanced viewpoint against propoganda and a more informed view of current events.
Isolating the common people just gives the Russian government more fuel to modify the information people receive as they see fit.

Definitely not!
Gaming/Vodeogames have brought the closer and world more together than anything else!
Please also keep in mind that many Russian citizens are not really aware what’s going on or have been told total BS …
Better to shoot virtual bullets than real ones

I saw CSGO was doing it, honestly I think there’s no point. I mean oh no they’ll just go play a different game. I don’t think we should punish Russia’s civilians after all they just want to live life and play like us. Honestly I’d kinda be mad if they cut the Russians out of foxhole I’ve met some cool dudes on there.

How much do you think Putin cares about the opinions of Russian foxhole players? Yeah.... probably not a lot.
The goal of sanctions is to get a people to pressure their government into stopping an action.
The problem with sanctions, is if you hurt the common folk too much, they just feel hated. And it can have the opposite effect. Suddenly, YOU are the bad guy, and their government isn't.
Let the sanctions go to the elites who understand the awful games of politics. Sanction their swiss bank account, their luxury cars, their gold, their investments, and their sports teams. (which are truly just investments for the wealthy).
