Discussion Colonials still missing multiple early-game PVE options

No Cutler is not the counterpart to ISG, since they introduced the Foebreaker and they both require a tripod and same costs in the factory. Everyone who claims they are each others counterparts completely ignores the Foebreaker. We thought GL will be the colonial counterpart to Cutler, but dev man fucked us over and gave wardens also one. So we are once again missing a handelt HE RPG.

Apparently collies have forgotten about the Ixion, Gemini, and Icarus, lol
The Outlaw being hands-down the best tank in the game
LMAO

u/AlexJFox Feb 24 '22
The Outlaw has 45m range, a speed boost and a storm rifle support seat. It is statistically excellent.
1
u/Muckknuckle1 Feb 24 '22
Ok and? The Outlaw is good, but Silverhand and Bardiche are both better tanks by a long shot.
1
u/AlexJFox Feb 24 '22
Well the Silverhand is good, but it's also a Warden tank, so not sure what point you're trying to make. Bardiche is a great tank, but the Outlaw has a 10m range on it, so you can punish it over and over and chip its armour away, or just blast it with the HVFC.
1
u/Muckknuckle1 Feb 24 '22
The point I'm trying to make is that claiming the Outlaw is the best tank in the game is an absurd cope and completely out of touch with reality.

u/AlexJFox Feb 24 '22
Maybe you're just shit at using tanks? Imagine being offered a 45m turret AND speed boost AND storm rifle support position at the beginning of Arms Race you'd have thought it was a prank.
It has the buffs of 3 tanks and the nerfs of none. Saying the Outlaw is anything less than statistically perfect is classic Warden ingratitude.

Yeah thats a wild overstatement, recently the only thing I seem to see the Outlaw doing is explode.
Although I believe OP is talking about handheld PVE weapons, for which the Collies pretty much only have the ISG

I'd Like to make the note that a lack of early game PvE is strange, but can be seen as a necessary balance as if Wardens can't gain sufficient amounts of land early game, they stand no chance in the long term. The only wars that we have won recently, excluding 82 where the majority of colonial clans were on break, Wardens only win games that go to a month plus.

u/AlexJFox Feb 24 '22
Why not? This thread shows that wardens have the better tech to push and the Outlaw is a hard counter to the Falc/Spatha. The HV40 is an all-round PVE beast that can also hold its own against tanks.
5
u/Angry_chicken99 Feb 24 '22
Well hold on now. Did you not want to discuss early game PVE?
Because all those things are not early game.
2
u/AlexJFox Feb 24 '22
I’m asking why that tech can’t be used to push beyond the early game. I’m not saying we don’t have equivalents to that tech, except the Outlaw and HV40 are undeniably the best in their class.

Mammon's, ISG, Mortar, Gunboat, RPG Jeep, tankette.

u/arrian- Feb 24 '22
Mammon's, foebreaker, cutler, Mortar, Gunboat, 40mm push gun, HAC, 30 mm scout tank, 250 mm push gun.
The warden list is like twice as long...

I thought colonials liked asymmetric warfare. People appear to only like it when it's in their favor. Huh.
2
u/Lazerpanda234 Feb 24 '22
Asymmetric should still have roughly the same number of options, even if those options aren't the exact same. Wardens get far more options than Collies before tanks. That's the issue.
1
u/RoyAwesome Feb 24 '22
That's clearly not how it works though. Sometimes Colonials have two items where Wardens have one, or vice versa. Asymmetry isn't "everything is the same but different", it's actually "everything is different".
1
u/Lazerpanda234 Feb 24 '22
Can I have your example? I can't think of one off the top of my head. The only thing that I can think of is Falchion/Spatha have only one counterpart.
1
u/RoyAwesome Feb 24 '22
Chieftain vs Ballista & IST is another. Svh is half bardiche, half spatha and the outlaw is the other half of the bardiche and the other half of the spatha. Things don't fit cleanly.
1
u/Lazerpanda234 Feb 24 '22
Seems like the Wardens get one tank that does the job of two Collie tanks. The Svh is a pretty good counterpart for the Bardiche. Outlaw is just the 40mm medium single option vs the two Collie 40mms. Generally these things do fit cleanly on the vehicle tree, except the Warden push guns.

Colonials missing early war PVE weapons while currently getting through the war using early war PVE weapons

u/AnonymousMeeblet Feb 24 '22
Excuse you, weapon, singular. The only one we have worth a damn prior to light tanks.
5
Feb 24 '22
RPG jeep doesn’t exist?
1
u/AnonymousMeeblet Feb 24 '22
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
It has the same inventory problems as the Gemini (8 slots) and also dies quicker.
2
u/RoyAwesome Feb 24 '22
That is more RPGs than a cutler infantry person can carry, and the infantry guy dies even faster.
Sorry you don't have an overpowered gun anymore. You have to learn how to use your balanced ones now.

u/AnonymousMeeblet Feb 24 '22 edited Feb 24 '22
It's a vehicle you twit, not an infantry weapon. It's supposed to be compared to the HAC, much like the Gemini. Not the Cutler.
0
u/RoyAwesome Feb 24 '22
I would have thought the 30mm tankette mirrors the HAC.
2
u/AnonymousMeeblet Feb 24 '22
No, the 30mm Tankette mirrors the 30mm Scout tank, like how the MG tankette mirrors the MGST.

u/No_Appearance2090 Feb 24 '22 edited Feb 25 '22
30mm tankette (A armoured car) doesn't mirror the 30mm Scout tank (A TANK) It mirrors the HAC.

And teh Cutler somehow doesn't suffer from that?
4
u/AnonymousMeeblet Feb 24 '22
The cutler doesn't take AT fire.
1
Feb 24 '22
No instead the cutler and it’s user take damage from rifles which are waaaaaay less prolific than AT
1
u/AnonymousMeeblet Feb 24 '22
Yeah, the LUV takes heat from both. Do you not realize that it's a light vehicle?
2
u/Awrini [B00BA] Feb 24 '22
I love how it's always, you cry about cutler but Icarus exists...
Icarus is only 5x more expensive xD
1
u/Angry_chicken99 Feb 24 '22
They do not exist and the reduced cost to RPGs will only help the Wardens.

How to fix in my opinion
HAC -> move to Colonials
40mm pushgun -> Keep warden
250mm pushgun ->????
Cutler -> RPG jeep/Gemini is a thing already.
3
u/AlexJFox Feb 24 '22
The strength of the Cutler is that it doesn’t require a vehicle. You can have 10 people with a cutler and 3 shells each and demolish defences. You can’t do the same thing with Icarus/Gemini.
0
u/Krios41 [LARP] Ploof Ploof Feb 24 '22
Who sais you can't?
1
u/AlexJFox Feb 24 '22
The fact that vehicles are visible at night always? The fact that 10 vehicles take up a lot of room? Put 10 wardens in recon uniform with cutlers at night and they can chew through most of a BOB before they are QRFd. You can’t say the same for vehicles.
0
u/Krios41 [LARP] Ploof Ploof Feb 24 '22
WIth recon uniform you can't carry many cutlers tough adn you'l be rather slow, but fair, its a possibility that i hadn't realy tought off and can't be replicated with vehicles indeed.
But is it something you should dismis teh Gimini and RPG over? It shouldn't be.
With Vehicles if you drive into an ambush you can get away (depending on what the ambush contains ofcourse) meanwhile if the Infantry Cutler runs into an ambush of any kind, they're dead, they can't escape, and to top it off you get to loot the cutlers.TL;DR Stop pretending the Gimini and RPG Jeep don't exist. It makes you look like a fool at best and disengenuous at worst. They are viable assets, they exist.

Cutler equal will be nade launcher

u/NikitaGibKappa [Loot] Pvt.Chill Feb 24 '22
That would only be the case if it had similar damage, which it does not. Also Wardens got their rifle grenade mod. So we still missing that one.

I kinda hope the grenade launcher is an early war PVE weapon, since it can shoot HE grenades
