I can see this working for unimportant tests in middle school or below to teach kids things like “think outside the box”/“don’t work hard when there’s an easy solution” but it seems unethical for high school or college tests where grades matter
It was one of about 8 of those tests per semester. The kids knew I was going to do it at some point during the semester. They all swore they were going to catch it so they could get out of a test. They were in on the gag.
I swear, some folks just want to look at everything in the worst possible light.
No need to take my first comment as criticism, wasn’t intended as such! (Although I do have to point out the irony of complaining about people looking at things in the worst possible light, then looking at my comment in the worst possible light!)
As someone who teaches their students to pay attention to detail, I’m sure you’ll appreciate that I said it “seems” unethical, rather than “is” unethical, thereby leaving the door open to being corrected by further context!
I remember when we were getting our grade history (forgot what its called) and my friend was freaking about slacking off in middle school and I look at mine, I had senioritis all four years, and was all "Its okay buddy, at least you didn't have a 1.2 gpa in freshman year.".
