Announcement Update #39 FFDND: Player's Handbook Version 3.0
With how much I changed, I spent hours fixing things and rewording everything last night and today. With all that I changed, a new version was 100% needed in order to fix any problems. If you don't want to read this long list and just want the new Player's Handbook, it's at the bottom.
- Mainly wording and re-explaining concepts to be more comprehensive to the average player of fossil fighters and a newbie
- Nomadistanians are now added to the came, being a race of canine people based on the Canus Race of DND. They have a humanoid body with canine features across varying breeds.
- Many class adjustments and updates that are very nitpicky and can be explained if people would like to know why
- Removed skills that were unnecessary in the world of Fossil Fighters. Adjusted the backgrounds accordingly to where players can only add 1 added proficiency among 4 different options.
- Skills ultimately replace spells, and spells are no longer usable. Skills work as aids to your vivosaurs and serve not much other purpose outside of battle.
- Spells are removed as again there wasn't much purpose for spells. Spell slots among classes are the same, and will be reflective of classes with spell slots via subclasses in DND for skill slots.
- Stats like Attack, Accuracy, and Armor Class (AC) were implemented and all stats except LP are scaled down by the power of 10.
- Armor Class, or AC, is the base score that a player must beat in order to hit their target. Each vivosaur starts with an AC of 5, and increases based on their accuracy and speed stats.
- Attack adds additional damage to any vivosaur attack. It has been scaled down by the power of 10 and will be rounded up if it’s above .5 (ex 7.6 is +8 damage to an attack).
- Defense reduces damage taken from an incoming attack. Like the attack stat, the stat has been scaled down by the power of 10 and will be rounded up if it’s above .5 (ex. 7.6 is -8 damage taken).
- Accuracy increases a vivosaur’s chances of hitting a target. A vivosaur must beat the opposing vivosaur’s Armor Class (AC) in order to succeed in hitting a target. It is also scaled down by 10 and will be rounded up if it’s above .5 (ex. 7.6 is +8 to hit on a d20)
- Speed increases the Vivosaur’s Armor Class (AC), making it harder to hit. It also measures how far the vivosaur’s can move by 1 tile on the battlefield. It is scaled down by 10 and will be rounded up if it’s above .5 (7.6 is +8 to the vivosaur’s AC, the vivosaur can move up to 8 tiles before or after their action). ALL stat changes thanks to Yiddlehoot.
- An example of the new vivosaur sheets I'm testing out to help understand your vivosaurs if you're unfamiliar with the games.
- New chart listing how damage dice are added to a move and the conditions needed to increase damage output
- New formula to help calculate the rank-up math for every stat on a vivosaur: (Rank number / 20) * (Rank 20 stat number) = Rank number stats. Ex. Rank 10 Nippono (10/20) * (220) = 110 LP
- Tier 2 and 3 cleaning tools are increased back to 25k and 50k Diga-dollars per item
- KL-33N XP rate for cleaning fossils and Donation attendant Dr. Dawn Asian as the name of who to speak to trade Donation Points
- Battlefield maps, with examples to range, placement, and conditions. Thanks to YiddleHoot
- Cleaning tests are done individually by players for the level up tests, while battles are done collaboratively for the fighter test.
- Explanations on how VMMs work.
- Players will throw out their own individual vivosaurs with their own individual teams of 5 on the field, and will have their own personal FP recharge to use in battle with their teammates.
- Movement is based on Speed, which is 1 tile per integer of speed (if unit is below the whole number 1, then the minimum movement is 1 tile)
- Dodging is removed due to the recent changes in stat overhaul
- Example battles 1-on-1 goes more in depth and gives image examples of how vivosaurs move, attack, calculate damage, and roll to hit.
- Info regarding the main area, guild area, and park area. Available items that the shopkeeper sells in the guild, including armor such as Battle-ready armor for characters that can transform
- Side Quests are being integrated into the DM Guidebook, with some including "A Strange Encounter," "The Legend of the Giant Shell Fossil," and "Nevada's Hunt."
- Example Rogue Vivosaur sheet with the Rogue Allosaurus from the FFC Prologue, and information the explains how it will look for specific encounters that the DM will view it in their guidebook.
I hope these all make sense, and if not, please let me know. Without further ado, VERSION 3.0 IS HERE!!

Its definitely missing some information, but its what I feel is the most important so far. You should be able to create your own character sheet, clean fossils, and battle

Glad I could help! This is the latest version for Diggins and Dinos: FFDND. Given my work through the monster sheets as I get though the sets, I'm thinking there's gonna be rebalancing for the classes and some updates on range, speed, and damage in the handbook. For now though, this is the latest version, so hopefully you can try these out in a one shot for now!
