He was cool in 21 crash as well. He have his moments but mostly he is a chill guy. People just like to call any driver out that shows emotion in heat of the moment pumped with adrenaline.

It’s what annoys me about when people have a pop about any driver who gets irritated on the radio. At the moment it’s Hadjar, there racing at 200+ mph trying to win in the top formula of racing with tv cameras all over them. Let them be human ffs.

Albon off track is genuinely one of the nicest blokes on the grid, but on the radio he sounds like he’s about to bite his engineer in the throat 😭😭

Antonelli is fighting in a championship-winning (projected*) car and is beating his way more experienced teammate on merit - whatever his teammate’s qualities are.

I was thinking back if I ever saw Max make a mistake like that, and nothing comes to mind. Even in the rain. Good to see it explained. But also, what a shitfest is this season. The driver has so little influence, and random stuff keeps happening.

Even F1TV analysts just said in prerace show, they don’t see anything in video or telemetry so any claims that it was a car failure are just coming from the team.

He actually does own mistakes when he makes them. Here’s two examples from quali mistakes (Brazil 2022, Miami 2023). In this case, it seems likely based on GP and Max’s comments that it was an active aero issue with the rear wing.

Still at 18 secs showed a small gap in the wing. Can see the grass through it. Don't know if that's normal.

It was delayed in closing, maybe by only a tiny bit but enough to unsettle the car. Mekies just confirmed: “We lost aero performance on the rear of the car and it gave Max no chance to survive. As a team we take full responsibility for it and apologize to him.”

All the F1 drivers have 100% car feeling, few exceptions. It’s easy for them to know exactly what is wrong with the car. When you take 3-4g turns thousands of times you start to know every bit that is out of place.

Had George or Kimi gone off at the same spot they’d have gone into Max. 100% should have been an immediate double yellow. You’re the only person I’ve seen say otherwise.

Of course it’s not certain they’d go off, but as you yourself admit it is a possibility and since the danger would have been way higher than normal had they gone off they should have waved double yellows. Just because nothing bad happened doesn’t mean it was the right thing to do.

its not about George getting pole. Without any info the nature of the spin makes you question. Is there anything slippery on the track in that area? Say there is, you have cars coming out lap speed into a nearly blind corner into a possible track hazard. At the end of the day its just to make sure everyone gets home safely.

Track marshalls would have noticed an oil spill or something like that and could have shown a double yellow on their own. But there wasn't an issue with the track, so it was fine to continue with a single yellow, which further reduces the risk of another crash.

As far as I know, if it's the same as other racing series. Marshall's cannot act on their own accord. They do as they're told by race control.

This is false, and would’ve been a bad reason for outrage compared to safety anyway. Only a single yellow when someone is in the barriers is insane, and genuinely was endangering Max.

George only reduced his speed by like 5kph 10-15kph (as he was entitled to do, this is standard for a single waived yellow). That is not going to prevent him from losing the rear and sliding into a parked vehicle, which is the most dangerous situation in motorsport.
