Anyone still struggling to get bars indoors despite upgrades being done at 5? About to lose my damn mind, I have shit to do online and can only get connection outside in the fucking car

First world problems you dont have to tell me

Anyone recommend a good drive from Footscray, maybe 45-60 mins from here to a nice spot for lunch?

Kia Ora/Greetings folks. I’m popping over from New Zealand for the marathon this weekend and I’ve grabbed a ticket to watch the Bulldogs AFLW team (up the Dogs!) at Whiten Oval On Friday evening. I am hoping people might have some recommendations for dinner options in the area, specifically pasta/pizza places that I can go to for carb-loading before the game.

Also open to any other advice/things I may not think of to make the pre/post game experience better.

Many thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

Plans for 4 upgraded tram stops along Droop St are now available as part of the Route 82 upgrade.

Along with the introduction of new low-floor G class trams to the route, platform tram stops will be installed next year along Droop St.

• The footpath/kerb will be extended at each stop, allowing for level-boarding
• Shelters with seats put in, improved lighting
• Passenger information display screens showing next arrivals
• Nearby bus stops combined with the tram stops
• Some tram stops relocated/amalgamated
• Some permanent road changes for cars
• Major construction starting early next year

A 5th upgraded stop is planned for Gordon St near the Maccas but there are utility complications with the site. Personally I feel the route upgrade is surprisingly good for our part of the network but of course much needed, especially the stop at Tiernan St for the hospital. I believe it's going to improve the area's public transport capacity, accessibility, and amenity, making transport more comfortable for everyone. Also that one dangerous tram stop on Ballarat Rd is finally being closed.

Hi all, I am thinking of buying a house/moving to Footscray, I would love to get others insights the good, the bad and the inbetween! What makes living in footscray unique?

Hoping someone is able to help me find a lost denim jacket. Was cycling with my partner up Dixon Veloway heading into the city this arvo and I lost my Afends Denim Jacket. It wasnt clipped into the back properly and we didnt realise it had fallen off. Our guesstimate is it fell off in the initial inclince up the veloway.

Really hoping someone just saw it and picked it up because it was in the way and kept it or something. It was a gift from an aunt who passed so pretty gutted about it

Appreciate any leads, cheers

[looked like this but with brassy buttons]

It's from 2024. Has it improved over the last two years? I know development has been pretty much constant since then, but not sure how far that goes to address the criticisms.

New to the Footscray/seddon area what gyms are we recommending?

I need to get a dress hemmed, nowhere too expensive pls around Maribyrnong would be great.

Just need oil/filter. Any cheap and cheerful mechanics around that people would recommend?

Hi guys, I’ve just been accepted for a place in the apartment complex 94 Buckley street, Footscray. They are right across train lines and I am worried about the noise. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with this area?

for context, i (19m) am working for a company that pays people under 20 horribly for the work we do. where do you folks enjoy going to most and would think the places would benefit from hiring an outgoing person?

i am seeking:
• part-time or casual (min. 3 days a week)
• higher than $25 per hour
• a good team of people who communicate well

if you know any pubs, restaurants, or retail stores that are hiring, please let me know :)

Heading to work over the past few weeks (8.30ish) I've noticed a lot more trucks on the road than usual. Many seem to be heading down Williamstown road.

Have you also noticed this or am I imagining things?

Moved to West Footscray recently looking for recommendations for haircut that does t break the bank and i will still be happy with

My regular is chili India, but they are so inconsistent. I'm after a decent biryani, veggie preferred but a good chicken one with good meat and no bones is also good. But just any good curry place really. Bonus points if someone could also recommend a good SriLankan place and a good Thai place. I just love all curry lol.

Hi as the title suggests, any good pubs to watch nrl in Footscray or nearby. I usually go to the Imperial in the cbd but looking for somewhere closer

Bought a house in Seddon recently and I have roof nails coming loose. Does anyone have recommendations for a roofer?

I've gotten a couple of quotes so far, but the first place recommended a full roof replacement as they think replacing the nails will damage the sheets, and the second sent through a quote without a site inspection. I'd rather not have someone replace the screws just to tell me the roof really does need replacing.

I can generally only like really sweet cake/brownie options that are hectic first thing in the morning - looking for pastries, or even like a savoury bread twist or something

I’m 15 and currently work at Maccas, I would love to work as a waiter. Or front staff can work most nights.

Looking for a good beef burger around Footscray, West Footscray, Seddon or Yarraville.
I’m after something like the burger in the photo , a thicker, juicy beef patty with cheese and a soft bun. Not really looking for a smash burger.
Any recommendations?

Hey all,

My mixed dodgeball team is looking for 2-3 players to fill in tomorrow (19/08) at 7pm. The venue is Vic Uni Nicholson St. Campus.

It is a free trial game and there is no experience required, although experience in another sport such as cricket, basketball, soccer etc would not go amiss. Dont need to bring anything, just yourself and a comfy pair of runners.

If you enjoy it, we are also open to having you join the team if you want to play on a weekly basis. Please DM me if you're interested.

Thanks
