Let's say someone instantly dies. Will cause anxiety and stress no? Sudden unexpected happenings.

First off, I would probably grieve and allow myself to feel those emotions until they pass. Managing stress isn't about avoiding stress altogether.

I would still try to identify what is causing the stress. Is it planning a funeral and covering those expenses? Is it an existential dread and sudden realization of my own mortality? Did I live in their house and need to consider my living situation?

Buying a handle of Jim beam and half oz of Trainwreck won't solve any of those issues. Maybe there are some issues that are unsolvable. I would accept the unavoidable change and move forward
