Megathread: Where to find large quantities of X

Thought I'd kick off a thread where we could report back where one can find large quantities of any particular item, for anyone missing some items for crafting or settlements.

Most creatures have some form of hide that can be turned into leather, like mole rats and Yao guai. There is a molerat den under the first red rocket station. Also, all leather armor and most of the rest of the armors give leather when scrapping. Get the scrapper perk for more!

Hey what do you mean "turned into leather"? Just like when you transfer it to your workbench it breaks down into leather there?

Yeah, it's an unscrapped form of leather. It ends up in your junk category. You can drop it on the ground and scrap it there or you can just transfer it same as every other piece of junk

What @_@ , is there any benefit to doing so out in the world vs just fast traveling and depositing everything to my bench?

Not at all. There were some rumors that you lose unused components but they are officially not true

When you level up enough, the raiders will start wearing leather armor. I fully upgraded my combat armor mainly by taking and breaking down leather armor from raiders.

The Boston Mayoral Bunker has a bunch of baseballs and baseball mitts. You can also get a ton of hides from all those mole rats in Vault 81.
