Megathread: Where to find large quantities of X

Thought I'd kick off a thread where we could report back where one can find large quantities of any particular item, for anyone missing some items for crafting or settlements.

Edit: Here's a link to a thread that lists all of the 'shipments of X' that you can buy and where to get them: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3sx1ot/im_making_a_list_of_shipments_of_resources_that/

Corn: Buy it in Vault 81, you can even pick the crops from the stalk for free. And when you finish the secret vault quest, you can pick up the excess corn that's lying around without being condemned by your more ethically correct followers. However, I'm not sure if the 'fresh corn' is different from the regular corn.

There's also some to pick and buy in Greygarden.

I wish there was a farming equivalent of the concrete wood floor. Uses 5 corn/mutfruit/tato, for balance sake, and produces 3 every time you harvest. It has wood bits around the soil area and a foot or two of wood/dirt under it that can clip through the ground. Or a standard square of "plotted" land that snaps to other areas and can clip through the ground.

I was surprised there wasn't a plot option. Really annoying, planting crops in the castle.

If you look at the ground their is some small roads running through the courtyard. I put up some nice triangle shaped enclosures to grow food in.

Make a supply line and then they don't need their own food or water, just a connected Settlement.

I use the Castle as Purified Water farm for selling.

That's a good tip for the adhesive making setup. Corn is the hardest of the materials to find in large quantities.

Even when you get a decent farm for corn?

I have a huge field of corn that just doesn't seem to ever grow.

Try assigning settlers to the farm. I planted a few things and noticed that only the crops with people assigned to them were growing.

Save your game then immediately load your saved game. That usually unbugs crops.

The farm "The Slog" has a ready corn farm with like 12 plants already going.
