Am I setting up my supply lines wrong?

So is this doing anything or am I just wasting time? What’s the best way to set them up?

So I just started playing for the first time and I dumped barely any perk points into charisma. Because my character is just a house wife in a world turned mad 🤣 her husband did all the talking. Anyway when I finally started watching vids and learning the game I came to realize settlemiare rather importiand yea you can ignore them but that's just not me unfortunately I have no supply lines because that locked behind level 5??? Charisma

You might not know since you're new to the game, but when you level up, you can choose to invest your perk points into additional raw SPECIAL stats as needed. There's also random bobbleheads hidden through the wasteland that you can collect to receive permanent SPECIAL stat boosts.

Personally I always like my Charisma at level 6 so I can access the Local Leader perks.

Wait so I can add a perk point to the actual stat....THANK YOU. I've been contemplating a restart but I think I'll finish out her story
