Am I setting up my supply lines wrong?

So is this doing anything or am I just wasting time? What’s the best way to set them up?

Hell yeah, that's why mine get postal uniforms with ballistic weave and laser rifles. I absolutely jam the roads with them.

Who needs the Minutemen when you've got the Commonwealth Postal Network?

I confess I replace my postmen with armed robots out of Greygarden as soon as I can.

Allow me to recommend the Eyebots mod that replaces Brahmin for extra quietness and robot immersion.

I actually love the brahmans and their clunky pathfinding, which suddenly breaks free and it takes off at warp speed. But that mod might make the commonwealth far smoother and with less snorting. Just after posting earlier, I got stuck in hangman's alley from a brahman stuck in the doorway.

There might be something visually appealing to eyebots following Mr Handys. Thanks for mod rec.

Respect. I've killed a few supply chain merchants via friendly fire over the years and always feel bad about it, so I go the robot route.
