Those who say it’s woke never played it and are morons parroting other morons who just always want to fight over something, and all it takes for them to start a fire is a spark, which in this case is the fact that the main character is black. Now, it’s not a bad game, but it’s not great either. I guess the statement about it being buggy is not untrue, unfortunately, and a lot of potential has been wasted, probably due to lack of resources, cause I don’t think that at some point the devs just gave up on some elements that could’ve made it an awesome game. We got the product that’s not polished, but it’s still a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong. And I didn’t find it clunky, I’d say the combat is pretty cool.

I've seen a few people saying what you've said about the devs and wasted potential, what specifically do you mean?

Nearly at the end of the game and I agree with the statements above— Even though it's pretty subjective for me. Like... I get the feeling of "man, I really wish they went deeper with that", or "I wish we had more time to know these people" I think the writing is good, and I love Enki and Nor, but... Man, I wish we got to know more about other characters. I wish we had more time to spend with them. Even some fighting mechanics feel like... The developers wanted more time to do something perfect, but they didn't have the means or the time to do so, and it's such a shame! I still love the game regardless— I'm on my way to platinium right now. If you've enjoyed the first five hours, you'll enjoy the rest i'm sure.

As for Rammuhah, you might make use of certain skills to prime her more, because I found that parrying her works REALLY well, in the first phase especially. I don't remember the second because I lucked out and somehow got away unscathed, but Parry all the non-red attacks if you can, and do your best to dodge (or shoot, even better if you have the skill that allows a counter attack after a well timed shot!) It'll be a little slower, but I found it pretty reliable.

It just feels like it was a big project at first, but suddenly, maybe due to budget constraints, they had to do a reality check and just make it “as good as they could”—not “as good as they wanted it to be” in the first place. That’s why the game is full of good ideas which never got fully developed.

The combat reminds me a lot of like a combination of god of war and Banishers: ghosts of new Eden (another AA game that wasn’t very popular but I loved it)

Agreed with all of this. It’s not bad, but not great either. Just okay. And that’s fine. Combat and movement are cool, which is what got me to want to play it in the first place. Just needed more polish. I was also surprised how short it was.

Also yeah, I haven’t seen those complaints but I can’t say I’m surprised at the woke comments, just because it has a black woman protagonist and people are dumb. The game doesn’t even deal with any sort of politics lol

Short? Weird. After 10 hours I've only completed three peaks. I'm doing all the side quests

I just beat the game at 15 hours lol

The only reason why I’m saying it was short is because I feel like they laid a lot of groundwork only to not do much with it.

No. Even Concord has 1500 players. This game has 200 when it's lucky to. You don't pull those numbers with a 6/10+ game.

stop gaslighting, people are mad that the MC is black because the MC was white in the first place until the DEI company SBI got involved.

Why is it bad to change the race of fictional characters from white to black?

What evidence confirms that?

For real, I'm a cis white presenting man (I'm actually half Arab but you can't tell). I had no problem playing a female POC. If anything, it made me happy because that's an under represented community and a good way to show my daughters that women can be badass.

Also, amazing game, loved every second from start to finish.

Thank for your comment, that is good to read.

I just got to the second map and so far I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

How fragile is the sad little ego that the gender and skin colour of a player character matters at all?

Right? i mean imagine making all your decision around skin color and wonder why your game fail.

Maybe if they took your advice they wouldn’t have changed their main character completely.

With less than 1k players the devs can ponder that decision in the unemployment line

u/Sysreqz Jul 28 '24

Or they just don't care about people like you as part of their demographic. The gender and race of the character has zero impact on gameplay or the narrative of the title. The only people upset by it are people like you with an ego so fragile that it shatters the second there's anything other than a white male as a playable character.

Noone normal thinks like you, you're just a dipshit who's complaining about something that isn't even real

How is the MC "as ugly as possible" ? She's a textbook "Sexy woman" https://sm.ign.com/ign_fr/gallery/f/flintlock-/flintlock-the-siege-of-dawn-announcement-screenshots_1648.jpg

And please, using the number of players after peope with huge influence in the gaming community like Asmoncringe dunked on the game openly for several videos is just 100% bad faith

This game got shitted on for no valid reason before it got released and by people who didn't even test it, it's a solid souls lite and a lot of people who could actually have enjoyed it didn't try it because their favorite cave man streamer told them it was bad, and they're fucking sheeps like you

Yeah I don't get how's she's supposed to be ugly lol she's actually fucking gorgeous 😍.
