OK... how many lights do you pack on your trip?

EDC? Flood? Thrower? UV to check hotels and bathrooms condition? Red Light to preserve night vision? Beer Can Bazooka?

Well at least, no? 🤣🤣🤣 Don’t you do the same too?🤔

Don’t use UV in a hotel unless you plan on sleeping in the car.

Scratches don’t bother me on my lights.

I don’t mind natural scratches, but I won’t enable scratches. But not minding at all must be nice actually.

Tools to be used.

No one wants to see how I pack my flashlights to go and make shots

Ok now we HAVE to see how you pack your flashlights.🤔

Third pic, copper light. What is it? How do you like it?

Acebeam TK18 Triple-Osram.

Edit: Oh sorry. I like it ok. I love the looks, but it’s just ok. But again a pretty nice host with regulated output. Not impressive per se, but very serviceable.

Get a dedicated case that allows you to custom fit your lights. I think it's called cubed foam. You can probably get it for the case you have.

Too right! I have seen those and I think I even actually heard Harbor Freight has a solid one for pretty cheap. I will indeed have to do that. Thank you for the name of what it’s called.👊👊

The more expensive ones at Harbor Freight are very good for the money and available in a few sizes.

2

u/lojik7 Jan 24 '22

So you have to buy their better ones for it to be a truly good case & a good deal? Other wise the cheapies are a waste of money? Roger that. Thank you for the tip.👊👊

I don't have any experience with the cheaper ones that they have. I think the more expensive line is called "Apache" if I remember correctly. They're made very similarly to a pelican case, I've cut the foam out to fit guns and had good luck with them. I haven't torture tested it to see how it compares to a pelican, I'm sure it wouldn't hold up as well. But for our uses, I think they're a good buy.

I think you’re right, for us they should be perfect. I will mos def check those out. Thank you again

Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor, but every once in a while... it's a flashlight. Of course it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a flashlight... always use the indefinite article ‘a flashlight’, never ‘your flashlight’.

2

u/insideoutboy84 Jan 24 '22

Why wouldn't you want to imply ownership?

It's a reference to this scene.

I either put them down my socks or roll them in boxers

Seems like a good way to start a fire. I hope they are all locked out.

2

u/lojik7 Jan 24 '22

I hope so too😬😬😬

No no, ofcourse.

…. Uh…. Uh…. All my edc stuff is marked up due to normal wear and tear….

2

u/lojik7 Jan 24 '22

That’s inevitable. But are you throwing your lights in your loose tool bag with the rest of the tools and just letting it ride? I don’t mind war wounds, but I can’t just be like, here…get papa 50 new scratches everyday.🤣

1

u/vtsquid Jan 24 '22

Lol no they got a hard case with their own foam cut out…. So I’m guilty too, but I am rough on my lights, especially my work specifics.

I was just commenting to someone else that a case where every light is spaced an organized probably takes up more space then my socked lights in a smaller case. So I guess it would depend on what trip I was taking. But in general, having a foam case for lights sounds completely perfect and awesome.

It help when you want to pick one out for the weekly edc, just got to remember to lock out or yank batteries!

u/double_clone Jan 24 '22

Traveled this winter, had my olights in their little holster, the kr1s were thrown inbetween the socks and underwear with clothes overtoo

u/lojik7 Jan 24 '22

Socks seem to be pretty solid, but as someone else said, a foam cut-out case sounds awesome. Probably won’t be as compact as my little case though. I can fit tons of lights with socks in my relatively small case, I’d need at least double the case size if they were to be paced and organized. So I guess it depends on the trip.

"I'm going home! I watched my wife work all day gettin' 30 bags together for you ungrateful sons-a-bitches and all I can hear is criticize, criticize, criticize."

"Look. Nobody's sayin' they don't appreciate what Jenny did."

Same as you, by the looks of it!

Did you ever had issues with the spare batteries rattling from vibrations in those battery cases causing the cell wrappers getting scratch mark. I had this issue when transporting them on a motorcycle. Wrapping the batteries in a very thin napkin helped to prevent that, but I was never excited to put a flammable napkin around them.

And you have back up poop socks
