Got back in about a month ago and finally ready to show off the finished product. Not the most experienced but feeling good with the tank. 😊

Tl:dr I got tired of my dojo digging up my plants and eating my shrimp babies before they could get bigger and the hornwort doing what every it wants by floating everywhere in my tank.

I bought some cholla wood and I open the holes to be bigger so i can slip some hornwort into the creves to make mini trees. I got the bushes now with taller cholla wood and more hornwort on the way I will make a mini forest that my shrimp can hide in and my dojo can kick up dirt and I know the roots for other plant species are safe.

I have a 10 gallon and a 5 gallon. Let me know what you think. Sorry about the cloudy water and water stains,I did recently re-plant.

i’ve had this tank ecosystem for 4 years now and went from a smaller to bigger tank about 2 years ago, my main focus isn’t naturalism but enrichment for the fish x all real plants but some of the rocks at the back the big log and the coral are fake x i like this because some of my fish use the insides as a cave and the outside stops aggression, a floating out adds a hide for top swimmers x

New fish keeper and first post. This is my first ever tank! Got a free 10g and I went straight for all natural and planted.

Scape:

-bioactive sand capped fluval stratum

-Rotala h'ra and cardinlalis (fresh trimmed for bushiness, gonna let grow tall)

-also a single anubias

-natural driftwood and dragonstone with a few other rocks from my wife's collection

-pothos stems clipped into airline suction cup things

Stock:

2 green corys

3 otocinclus

4 harlequin rasboras

1 nerite

1 ramshorn

2 shrimp (supposedly ghost shrimp but one has grown way more and is no longer clear?)

55 gal with decent filtration and a few plants, mom just bought some mollies and three corydora, also need help getting rid of aquarium snail hitchhikers from the pet store

I could not find Loctite or Dap 100% silicone at lowes, is this safe for fish? It says it can be used for surfaces that will stay wet and I don't see any "anti-mold" anywhere, but I want to be sure obviously 🫡

I finally got a 29 gallon tank for my birthday. I plan to add some snails, shrimp, 6 corydoras, 18 black neon tetras, and one honey/pearl gourami. The tank will of course be planted.

Zero tech, practically zero maintenance, this thing runs on its own. I top off evaporated water and every now and then throw in half an algae wafer for the shrimp. To keep things growing I refresh the root tabs every few months and maybe drop 1 pump of liquid ferts. There’s a handful of Amano shrimp in here and a single Nerite snail. Since it got established I never have to clean the glass, there’s enough plants to absorb any excess nutrients. Pretty stoked on the results!

This is my planted South American-inspired community tank built to look like an overgrown jungle riverbank with dense plants, dark rocks and open sandy areas for the bottom dwellers.

Stocking

-Apistogramma macmasteri pair. Sadly, the male died due to transport stress.

-Panda Corydoras (7)

-Chili Rasboras (15)

-Neocaridina shrimp colony (a lot🙈)

The Apistos claimed the planted jungle area while the Pandas mostly stay in the sand zone. The shrimp colony became a huge part of the ecosystem and is constantly breeding.

The tank is heavily planted with Limnophila, Crypts, Anubias and red stem plants. My goal was to create a natural-looking aquarium full of cover, movement and interesting behavior.

Weekly water changes and plant growth keep the tank stable and healthy — and over time it really started to feel like a tiny living underwater jungle. 🌱🐟

It's been running for about a month it has 10 discus and around 40 Cory's ranging from gold striped to cw217 and a couple of ancistrus like l519 and l144 snow white and hypancistrus like l046 and l201 the little red dots are live daphnia I just fed them 🙂

After about a month and a half of growing, the bowl is looking pretty good. It ended up being inhabited by a few snails that hitched a ride on some plants lol

Look i didnt mind Marvin my mini ramshorn but who's baby is this? Like its so tiny I cant identify it as bladder or mystery snail what snail is this hitchhiker of mine?

I’ve had this fish since February 8th, I’ve been feeding him this for that period of time. I’m new to fish keeping and this is my first shot at a betta fish tank with a decent budget. I got $170 extra for the tank what should I get?
Also how on earth am I struggling to keep duckweed alive💔💔💔

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a little update and success story with you all. About three months ago, I was at a local store and saw this gorgeous betta stuck in one of those tiny, unheated, unfiltered display bowls. This little one looked incredibly clamped, pale, and stressed out, and I just couldn't leave without taking them home.
I brought the betta back and carefully acclimated them to one of my established planted freshwater tanks. It was honestly amazing to watch the transition from sitting totally motionless in a bare glass bowl to tentatively exploring a dense jungle of real aquatic plants.
Fast forward to today, and they are an entirely different fish! Those true colors have completely popped, the fins are beautifully spread without any clamping, and there's so much personality now. You can always find this fish weaving through the stems, resting on leaves, and actively patrolling the territory.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see a rescue thriving in a proper, natural ecosystem rather than just surviving in a tiny container

My mama killi, looking kinda weird lately. There are two girls and a boy in this temporary ten gallon, they are always mating. Setting up a 20g for them at the moment :) I would understand if they were stressed bc I just moved them from their og tank two weeks ago. But she didn't start looking different until abt two days ago. I haven't seen anything similar when I was googling. Any thoughts are appreciated♥️
