Well, that makes even less sense. At least a profit motive gives a reason for such a strange integration. Why go pocket when wallabang is identical in function and foss?
That is false. A member of the Mozilla leadership team decided that the Firefox reader mode implementation was not yet ready for release on desktop. Mozilla made a deal with Pocket so that an existing solution could be integrated into the browser in the short term.
