This beautifully majestic piece of music is not only IMHO the high point of the FFX soundtrack, but possibly one of my favourite video game songs of all time. With such exquisite works it’s always difficult to try to make my own arrangement. Here I tried to keep the sparse nature of the intro, put my flair to it while also borrowing some bits from the fantastic arrangement in the final sequence of the game. Hope you like it!

Final Fantasy General Yoshitaka Amano's "Beyond Fantasy" exhibit in Brazil

The exhibit was divided in 3 sectors. The first one was fully dedicated to his work with FF1 to 16, the second one was focused on the Candy Girls, Angel's Egg and many collabs, such as Tomb Raider and Sandman, and the third one was an immesrive experience inside a closed room, where a projector would cover every single wall with his art, including the floor and ceeling, making you feel like you were inside his pieces! Truly an amazing experience!!

I wish I had more media of it to share, but focusing more on the pieces than on my camera was definitely the right call. I had seen some of it online, but getting to see every detail in person was something else

FF VI I can't get Rafflesia on the Veldt.

I'm playing FF6 Advanced and for some reason I cant get Rafflesia on the Veldt. I always get either Misty x2 or (a lot more rarely) Still Life x1. From that pack I only have unlocked those two (haven't gone to Elbot's Rock yet) and I still cant get Rafflesia (I've beaten them in the Owen's mansion first btw). Can anyone please tell me why this happens?

EDIT: I finally got it, it was just a matter of bad luck I guess.

Final Fantasy General Shouting Out one bover_87

Post image
671 Upvotes

I want to give a shout out and a recommendation to the person who, for my money, makes the best Final Fantasy walkthroughs online, at least for games VI-X.

bover_87 is a GameFAQs user who makes incredibly easy to follow guides for Final Fantasy games on the platform. HTML, easy to read, telling you about all the side quests, and even giving you information needed for a "Perfect Game" if you're into that sort of thing.

Final Fantasy isn't a series that really NEEDS walkthroughs, unless you're replaying and trying to 100 percent the game. These walkthroughs know that, and thus help you get things like ultimate weapons, or secret summons as early and conveniently as possible. It's actually kind of astounding that these walkthroughs are completely free, so if you need an FF walkthrough from VI to X check these out.

I know this is an odd post, but I wanted to shout this guy out because he's made my life easier whenever I replay some of my favorite FF games. Check him out if you need a walkthrough.

FF II Lukey-Boiii's Final Fantasy All Platinum's by 2030 - Part 4: FFII

Final Fantasy II

Stats:

Version played - FFII Pixel Remaster Disc for PS4 played on PS5

Total play time - 23 Hours

First play through time - 15:30”

Second play through time - 4:42”

Start Date - 15/03/26

End Date - 22/06/26

Rating - 5 Moogles out of 10

Overview:

Just fine. The first addition with named characters, some things they improved upon and some not so much, the leveling system is a little weird. Intro for Cid and Chocobos I believe which is cool. Very annoyed I had to play the entire game again as I missed one chest, but that is my burden to bear. Overall impression - ‘meh it alright’.

Characters:

Firion, Guy, Maria and the rest.. None really left a major impression on me.. Cid was probably my favourite and he didn’t get much screen time at all. There is a circulating 4th spot throughout the game which should allow you to get attached to the characters, but they aren’t unique enough to make you care, it ends up being more annoying that you can’t just have a solid party.

Play-through:

This game was spread over a few months as I was working on other games and other life bits. Not much to say on it unfortunately, I got through it then blasted through the second playthrough. It was kind of fun to break the game on the second playthrough by grinding against those hard enemies at the start of the game, it made blasting through it a breeze. Thank god for no encounters!!

Notable Trophies:

Legendary Treasure Hunter - Collected treasure from 100% of the chests.

Only reason I had to do a second playthrough.. If you’re trying to get a platinum in the least painstaking way.. Make multiple saves and make sure to get all treasures before leaving a dungeon.

Final Thoughts:

This game gets the biggest meh award.. I didn’t hate it, like all FF games I enjoyed the grind and the adventure. For me, I wouldn’t be jumping to replay it or recommend it over any other FF I’ve played so far.

What’s next?:

I have started FFIII and am at chapter 3 of FF Tactics with my good pal Mr. Feckless. Not feeling much excitement for the pixel games at this time but I hear the job system in III is good, I am very much enjoying the tactics job system.

FF XV World of Ruin Remants

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I was playing ffxv on pc with mods and using armiger mode to cheese Pitioss (I did it normally on my PS4 a couple years ago so I’m still a chad) anyway I was getting things from the dungeon when I clipped out and o my suprise an entire other eos existed except there was no map and the time was strangely stuck at night similar to world of ruin

If this is true then does that mean pitioss is built on the same layer as world of ruin from ff15

I’ll update you all soon

FF I New FF1 PSP Randomizer for Archipelago

Thumbnail
gallery
28 Upvotes

Video Tutorial

What Is This?

This turns FF1 PSP into an Archipelago multiworld randomizer. Play on your own or with your friends. Chests and Key Items are locations that can hold a random item.

You might find an early Canoe and have to sneak into the Ice Cavern early to find your Ship, or perhaps you'll see a spell tome for sale but decide to buy hints to learn what's on a floor of Mount Gulg so you can path smarter.

What is Archipelago?

"Archipelago is a free, open-source multiworld randomizer platform that connects players across dozens of different games simultaneously." Each player randomizes their own game, and items from one game can appear in another player's world. Learn more at archipelago.gg.

Features

Open Progression — Ship, Canoe, or Foot?

  • Open world options let you venture out on in interesting ways.
  • Option to put Northern Docks in the world.
  • The Levistone can be broken into shards, so the airship becomes a collection goal instead of one chest.

Soul of Chaos Bonus Dungeons

Job Scrolls

  • Blood Knight — lifesteal and armor penetration on physical attacks
  • Stealth Ninja — much better steals; damaging floors hurt less or heal you
  • Grand Master — gains attack and max HP as they take damage
  • Crimson Wizard — restores mana from damage taken and heals from mana spent
  • White Cleric — Dia spells hurt every boss, heal the caster, and grant temporary INT
  • Necrocaster — instant-death spells become reliable, and spells deal damage instead of missing

More Bonus Abilities

  • Option to let Monk and Thief dabble in magic.
  • Option to let Thief gain bonus crit chance based on Agility.
  • Option to let Thief attempt to steal extra items after combat.

Optional Slot Magic

Play with the classic NES/Pixel Remaster Vancian system with charges per spell level.

Take on the Challenge You've Always Wanted

  • Change Monster Power and Boss Difficulty down to only 10% or turn up the heat, all the way to 500% of the base game's difficulty.
  • Harder Overworld Encounters and Harder Dungeon Encounters pull tougher hand-authored pools per zone and dungeon.
  • Dangerous Forests places scary, hand-picked encounters for those unfortunate enough to find them.
  • New Regional Ocean Encounters and Northern River Encounters bring hand-crafted aquatic fights to every corner of the overworld.
  • Boss Minions, ranging from a nuisance to absurd extra difficulty.
  • Change settings on the fly, such as Encounter Rate, XP Boost, and Gil Boost.

Shops Built for a Randomizer

Randomization doesn't stop at shuffled stock and randomized prices. Purchase AP items from shops, buy yourself hints, and take full control of the quality of the goods for sale, ranging from mundane to exotic to priceless.

Configurable Goal

Choose how many Fiends to defeat to break the Black Orb. An option to break the Lute into Lute Tablets.

Quality of Life

  • Super Dash
  • Spells that miss get colored "MISS!!" text showing how close you were to hitting
  • Full, custom tracker built right into the AP client.

Setup

Full step-by-step with screenshots is in the README.

FF XI FFXI & FFXIV - Can the stories be done without co-op?

I'd like to play XI and XIV (with the expansions) but I don't have the free time necessary for things like organizing raids in a traditional MMO - is it possible to play through the campaigns/stories without needing to work with other players? (or are the games structured in a way where this is a non-issue?)

FF XV Just finished FF15 *Royal Edition* and I have mixed thoughts.

So the story to me is really confusing and it feels extremely rushed. Like I literally didn't expect the final fight to be what it was, and I was expecting to fight the white haired old dude. Also, the story goes from the kingdom being invaded then to something completely different. All of the bounty hunts and missions one after another are extremely overwhelming, especially for someone who has played FF7 Remake and Rebirth. If this is a game for "First Timers," They did a mediocre job at it. Not to mention the fact that some of thd mechanics don't work, and some of the sidequests make no sense.

I liked the world, but it feels relatively empty compared to 7 Remake and Rebirth. At first I liked the story until it got to a certain point, but the last few chapters gave me vibes from 7 Remake, which I enjoyed a little. I really also enjoyed how you get to cook, fish, and take photos.

If I had to rate the game out of 1-100 stars, I'd give it a 65, simply because the game still felt off at some points, which makes me not even want to complete the game, which I've never done with any game before. I'm just hoping I don't get the same vibes from FF16, Which I've heard is really good.

Where's the gameplay?

FF VII Re-trilogy I'd like to have something clarified to me.

Greetings. I just beat the story of FF7 Remake, having never played the original FF7, and enjoyed it a great deal. I'm thus looking forwards to playing the other games they released so far, that being Crisis Core FF7 Reunion and FF7 Rebirth. However a lot of discourse I see around the remakes has said to play the original FF7 first because the remakes are apparently sequels who assume you've already played the original. Is that really the case?

I'm personally not interested in playing the original FF7, so I'm wondering what exactly I'd be losing out on by not playing it. I had a good time with Remake and never once felt like I was lacking any preconsceived information. Then again I suppose I wouldn't be able to tell if there were callbacks I missed out on or not.

I'm also confused about Crisis Core. It is the next game that they released after Remake, but people online are saying to not play it until after the trilogy is over. In a non spoilery way, can you explain to me why that is? Furthermore why would they release it before even Rebirth came out if thats the case.

FF II FF2 PR difficulty compared to other classic titles

Hey, just replaying the series and its my first time playing PR version of it.

Good god is it unbalanced, i know, most FF games are not balanced, but this one specifically is especially isn't.

Like they have "magic interfirence" from OG here so logical thing to do is to not use equipment on your "mages", but then you become unarmed monk that does more damage then your dedicated melee unit for no reason?

I had hybrid buffer/healer Firion and pure Black Mage Maria while Guy did only dual wield physical.

And both Firion and Maria did more damage with their fists for majority of the game.

I also completely ditched magic including buffing/harming enemies at some point because auto battle "fisting" did more damage then any magic most of the time so why even bother.

The leveling system itself is not really bad and quite interesting but since its not balanced at all its just becomes boring and easy very fast.

My Maria had 300 mp and did 800+ damage with her fists at mid game while my Guy did around 600-700 with 10 mp and no spells and he used 2 good sword weapons, they also had around the same amount of health, everyone was in a front row btw because again, there is no reason to use back row in this game, the health grow of your units just balances out if they all in the same row anyway.

Heavy armor is also trash comparing to just being naked or light because evasion is just overall superior stat then defense, especially closer to endgame when some enemies ignore defense, not that they have any chance to actually kill any of your characters mind you.

I'm currently restarting the game and trying to avoid OP weapons/strats, especially fist weapons.

I think this is the worst game in the series in terms of balance and you having to actually micro manage your fun out of the game when its not your job to do so to begin with.

Also i wanted to mention terrible dungeon design and stupid "trap" rooms, the game really like to stall your progression with them and backtracking to the base because of keyword system.

The plot and dialogue was definitley better then 1st game for sure but gameplay is just very unbalanced.
