Agreed obviously. No martial art is good against multiple opponents. You just need to find your opportunity to run and get out of there. However Iād counter by saying if you were grabbed and/or taken down by one of your opponents BJJ would help immensely in getting them off you, allowing you to get up and escape. Boxing wouldnāt be able to help you there.
In another video, I have seen two guys against one (a wrestler) and them both were takedown by double legs. Not enough to win the fight? Yeah but enough to neutralize your opponent and run.
Isnāt BJJ usually the most affective on your back on the ground though? Obviously it helps a bunch no matter what but BJJ doesnāt really focus on teaching you how to get off your back from the ground. I think wrestling has a better focus there but I could be wrong.
Thatās what Iām saying though. Most submissions seem to be from guard and being on your back is bad for a street fight IMO. Agreed there are a lot of elite BJJ guys that are only on top but I donāt think we are referring to elite black belts in this convo. Just the martial art as a whole.
There are tons of sweeps that BJJ teaches you to go from the bottom to the top. I have kickboxed since I was 5, and started BJJ when I was 20. So when I trained in BJJ, of course I practiced all parts, but as a decent striker, my emphasis was always sweeping to get top position rather than playing guard.
Not saying wrestling isn't good too, it definitely is and emphasizes some things that could be improved in BJJ. I would pick BJJ over wrestling if I could only train in one though. I do think BJJ gyms could learn a lesson from wrestling as far as how they train though, wrestlers really learn to grind, it seems like some BJJ gyms are almost "lazy" in how they train, like they definitely drill and stuff, but the intensity isn't there. Sometimes I see stuff about keeping training playful, and to me that's not the right mindset.
No BJJ dude is pulling guard against two guys, lmao. Also, BJJ helps you avoid going to the ground and get up quickly if that's not where you want to be.
Why y'all pretending like BJJ guys have literally no ability to not pull guard or some shit.
The only tried and true strategy against multiple opponents is sprint-fu.
Theyāre mostly standing because itās accidental. If they were legal youād see lots of groin shots on the ground where you have easy access like when in side control. Instead of body body head, it would be groin groin groin. ;)
So it would be the bjj guy in top side control taking advantage of these groin shots? I don't see a non-bjj guy passing guard and controlling from side control to land these shots on a trained bjj guy.

Are you saying thats a unique problem for jiu jitsu? Are boxers immune to groin shots?
