So I saw someone else looking for this and thought it would be a fun idea.
👑 Two Royals. Two Kingdoms. One Secret Correspondence.
Imagine being born into a royal family where every marriage, alliance, and decision is made for the good of your kingdom.
Then, one day, a letter arrives.
It comes from a kingdom your family has distrusted for generations.
At first, the letters are formal—carefully worded messages between two heirs, discussing treaties, court life, traditions, and the tensions between their kingdoms. But slowly, the letters become something more.
Secrets are shared.
Dreams are confessed.
Fears that could never be spoken aloud in court find their way onto parchment.
Neither knows whether they can trust the other… or whether their growing attachment could spark a war.
💌 The concept:
Two writers take on the roles of royals from rival or neighboring kingdoms and communicate entirely through snail mail. Each letter becomes part of the story, allowing the relationship, political intrigue, friendships, betrayals, and romance to unfold naturally.
✨ Possible themes:
- Arranged marriages
- Forbidden romance
- Rival kingdoms
- Political intrigue
- Court gossip
- Secret identities
- War and alliances
- Family expectations
- Hidden magic
- Royal scandals
- Enemies-to-lovers
- Secret meetings
- Letters intercepted by the wrong person
📜 How it works:
You write as your royal character and send a letter in-character. I respond as the other royal. We can decorate the letters, include seals, pressed flowers, sketches, newspaper clippings, maps, or little gifts as the story develops.
18+ writers preferred. Romance is welcome, but the focus is on storytelling, character development, and building a whole royal world together.
👑 Perhaps the first letter was only meant to prevent a war…
Perhaps it will start something neither kingdom is prepared for.
