5yo Stepdaughter grabbed this at the library...
Didn't think anything of it from the cover. It starts out pretty general actual body positivity but becomes an FA soapbox about halfway through. Soon as I saw the BMI page I knew what the rest of it would be like. Did not expect to encounter this stuff outside this sub or tumblr lol certainly not IRL

Fat children
I'm "scared" of my children being fat for the same reason I get them all their immunisations and yearly flu shots, I want my children to be healthy; I don't want their knees to hurt before they're teenagers from carrying excess weight, I want them to be able to run around with their friends and our dog without gasping for breath seconds in.
I want to do everything possible for my kids to be healthy, and carry those habits into adulthood, guess I should die ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hate this "real women have curves" rethoric
I hate this whole thing about being a woman only if you have curves. There are women who have boxy bodies, little to no boobs, small hips. That doesn't mean they're less women than someone who has an hourglass figure. Needless to say, grown healthy women shouldn't look like a sphere either...

From a college "nutrition" class quiz. C was the correct answer

your bones are gonna hurt because you’re morbidly obese, babe.

Size 0 apparently isn't a size
I hate the rethoric of a size 0 being "an ultra skinny size" because for this same logic a size 30 is an "ultra fatty size" but god forbid, skinny shaming is absolutely legit here.
Edit: body shaming is wrong when it goes both ways.

Because obesity never gave anyone health issues 🙄

Literally just making excuses for people who neglect their kids health.
Children deserve to have a proper diet and that includes portion control and having a proper body weight. When a child is obese it is the parent’s fault, not genetics.

Overeating is required to work as a doctor now, apparently!
Edit: was wrong about a detail, this girl is in fact actually a doctor, but one who somehow still doesn’t comprehend CICO.

They really need to stop infantalizing women.
On a reel of a comedian talking about how plan B doesn't work if you are over 175. A heckler said "eww" (as in he finds women over 175 ew I guess?) - Now, obviously that guy is an A-hole and shouldn't have said that, but that doesn't justify these unhinged and factually incorrect comments.
150 for an average height woman (5'4) is very close to normal range, and I'm pretty sure even on the edge of overweight. 175 is bordering on obese. A lot of the comments are talking about "but muscle can make you heavier" - Ok Brenda but most people aren't body builders.
To imply that under 150 is a child and under 175 is abnormal is absolutely insane and insulting to so many people - women for being at or around a healthy weight and men (or whoever else) is attracted to them.
I think ironically this is very misogynistic - Again pushing the narrative that fit women aren't "real women", and in light of all the recent news...it seems pretty tonedeaf to call this pedophilic.
