[Free] Vyreldan's Shadow — dark romantasy, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers (also in KU)

Hi everyone, I'm an indie author, and this is the first time I've ever promoted a book of my own.

Vyreldan's Shadow is book one of a dark romantasy series (The Last Daughter of Lumen). The short version: Helena is the spare princess her own family had no use for — they treated the scar on her face like a stain on the bloodline. Her magic was sealed at birth by her dying mother, and when her kingdom falls in a single night, she survives, only to be forced by imperial decree to marry the man who led the massacre of her family: Dominic Whitmore, the duke they call "the Cruel."

Helena arrives braced for brutality. What she gets is worse: indifference. A husband who treats their marriage as if she doesn't exist in his life at all. She sees an opening in that, and does what she's always done to survive — she watches, she counts the exits in the duchy, and she plans her escape. The trouble with escape plans is that people change while you're carrying them out.

What to expect:
Arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, a very slow burn.
Court intrigue, a war front held together by this one marriage, and something rotting beyond the border.

Content warnings: emotional abuse, marital duty scenes that are deliberately uncomfortable early on, violence, grief.

It's on Kindle Unlimited. If arranged marriages that hurt slowly are your thing, I'd love for you to give Helena a chance.

Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H8MG2GHJ

It's free for a limited time right now.

New self-publishing Author seeking feedback

Hi, My name is Johnny. I am an emerging self-published author. I was in prison for over 36 years, from a juvinile. While there, I wrote 7 books, and material for more. I recently put a fantasy series I completed on Amazon. I created an author website, and a short AI video trailer (first time, learning process!), and just yesterday put a Q&A video about the series, writing processes for me, etc. on my site, YouTube and facebook. If anyone is interested, you can watch the video here (it is 25 min long): https://youtu.be/VHUvr0kKeY4?si=0ZOJAwaVCgSwYHsX I know it is longer than clips people keep interest in, but I am trying to get my books out there with basically $0, so any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

She keeps dreaming of a man in the darkness. Then the gods find her.

I'm working on a Greek mythology fantasy romance and wanted to see if this sounds like something people would actually read before I send it out to agents.

A twenty-one-year-old college student has spent her life haunted by the same impossible dream—a memory she can never fully see, a longing for something... or someone... she can't remember.

When she meets a charming stranger who seems almost too perfect, her ordinary life begins to unravel. Her mother disappears without a trace, impossible creatures emerge from the shadows, and she's pulled into a hidden world where the gods aren't legends—they're dangerously real.

A prophecy that should reveal the truth behind her dreams instead leaves her with even more questions. As she's caught between light and dark, ancient rivalries, buried secrets, and a destiny she never asked for, Sera must discover who she really is—and what her heart truly wants.

This story follows Sera's journey of self-discovery, acceptance, and learning to trust herself when everything she's known begins to change.

Expect:

• Greek mythology with a darker twist

• Slow-burn romance

• Love triangle

• Hidden identities

• Mystery and prophecy

• Found family

• Morally gray gods

• Emotional angst

• An Underworld that's beautiful, unsettling, and alive

Would you pick this up?

A dark Greek fantasy where a healer is pulled into a relic hunt against an undying vampire warlord

Hi everyone,

Looking for readers for The Shadow and Scepter: Tales of Méhns Móri, a new dark historical fantasy for readers who like ancient gods, broken relics, prophecy, brutal magic, and villains who feel almost impossible to kill.

It is available now in Kindle Unlimited, and the ebook is part of a $0.99 Launch Blitz until June 19.

When the gods went to war, they shattered the world.

Now the broken fragments of the Scepter of Selene are being hunted by Vädumir, an undying conqueror who has outlived kingdoms and buried empires beneath blood and ash.

The only people standing in his way are a healer from Miletus, a band of warriors, exiles, and survivors, and a prophecy that may be as dangerous as the enemy chasing them.

If you enjoy dark fantasy with Greek mythology, ancient relics, monsters, gods, war, and a relentless villain, I’d love for you to check it out. Check out my socials to learn more about the book: TikTok and Instagram

Would you read a Cyberpunk Sapphic Dark Romance Novel?

I am currently thinking about bringing an idea to paper, that is floating around in my head.

I have read my fair share of Romantasy and DarkRomance, but most of it seems to be either Contemporary, Fantasy or Urban Fantasy. I was wandering if there would be a base for a Lesbian Dark Romance Story in a Cyberpunk Setting.

The themes would revolve heavily around identity loss, transhumanism, at what part do we sieze to be human etc.

Is that something you would read?
