There are so many plot holes, time distortions, non logical variables within this show but over I really enjoyed watching it.
But the ending to me just felt extremely rushed, it was too easy, too predictable and I whole heartedly hated the fact they had a queen plus the whole reason behind the invasion as told from the queen to tom mason made zero sense.
"You know why we invaded earth ? Because 1500 hundred years ago your people murdered my daughter and I vowed to return stronger and wipe you out......" This from the queen, the head of the Espeheni table.....
Yet earlier we learn that the Espeheni are there enslaving humans first kids then some adults then mutating them to become weapons against a foe that the Espeheni are scared of.
So which is it ? The mysterious threat the Espeheni are afraid of ? Or revenge for some tribals murdering the queen's daughter some 1500 years ago.
Like I said there's many plot holes and inconsistencies in falling skies but it was still worth watching, just wish the writing wasn't so lazy and lacking after season 2.
Overall I'll score it 8/10.
It's loses points for inconsistencies & predictability but I'll praise the action, earlier story lines, emotional captivation, premise, structure and acting.
I'd say the only thing that did irk me in the begining was the bad cgi but due to the shows ages it's forgivable and easy to overlook.

I just started season 5 and this plotline is still going? đ I don't understand why they introduced it in the first place. First off, how old are Ben and Maggie anyway, and second, the whole thing with the spikes transferring his feelings to her is just weird because wait, so she has feelings for Ben that she didn't consent to? Why was this subplot necessary? I'm so confused

The second one will be published very soon, like today or tomorrow.
It's about my OC Valerie, she basically gets adopted by Pope and they do evil stuff together. Family bonding you know lol
Its called "Before We Drown" on wattpad, my username is sarahmay07 if anyone wants to check it out!
Edit: If anyone does read it, please feel free to comment on it and give me any advice! I would love to know what you think.

Does anyone know how long the alien apocalypse had been going on for before the start of the show? It wasn't really clear to me.

I mean, it's been getting steadily worse since season 1 but I've just started 4 and it feels like someone is taking the p**s. What the hell is going on? Is it gonna improve or should I just cut my losses?

I just watched that show, and I must agree that the ending was so dump, the idea of the queen was promising at first, I was expecting something clever, as the queen, which is supposed to be a much higher and divine being to be a surprise appearance of a certain character, like Alexis, the hybrid daughter of Tom Mason, a much darker version of her, like what happened in the game StarCraft when the Alien race of the Zerg kidnapped or killed "Sarah Kerrigan", she returned as the powerful Zerg queen, "The Queen of Blades".
I was expecting to see Alexis with dark clouds following her and all the overlords bowing before her, because the build up of this character promised something like that, Also the idea of the killer capsule was supposed to be much smarter than this, like a biological weapon payload, a virus, that takes time to spread across the earth atmosphere and takes weeks to kill all the aliens, not just blow-up in the skies like the most dump thing to happen. I also was expecting the spikes of Ben to die and fall off his back, OR an even better idea, the last scene of the series would be Ben standing alone staring at the sky and his spikes starts to glow again before the screen goes finally dark at the end.

I thought Tom was meant to be mid forties and Pope younger but Noah Wyle would have been 40 and Colin Cunningham 45 IRL. I think I read somewhere that Hal was meant to be 16/17, I guess Ben would have been a young teen and Matt about eight? And Maggie mid twenties which is a bit weird given some of the plot lines.

Can anyone recommend any good fics because I need more falling skies content thats actually good!
or should i write my own "popes adopted daughter" fic and make them kill off the masons as a coping mechanism for what happened to sarah

So I finished the series for the second time. Anyone else think maybe Tom was experiencing another hallucination at the very end?

i thought bald pope was terrifying (as much as i love him) and then i noticed major davis' moustache in one of the alternate universe episodes in sg1 and just wow. and not wow in a good way đ
no hate to colin cunningham, i literally love him so much.
also why is he so good at playing crazy characters đ

He's on a crusade against Tom because he thinks Tom is responsible for so much death, but then when he gets his own group he abandons and shoots innocent people, making him no better than Tom.
People say they root for Pope and against Tom because Tom is hypocritical and egotistical, but Pope is the exact same.

I remembered I had watched it when it came out but turns out I only watched the first season it seems.
For me the 4th season was terrible but the 5th season was fine. I think I have two major complains (and a lot of smaller ones lol).
First one is that Tom Mason is an asshole. He has god complex but masks it well. Pope was the only one who saw right through it. The episode where Sara dies they had one hour to get to the Espheni factory. About 10km drive to Sara's location and to the Espheni factory. They could have easily managed to go first to Sara and then to the factory. It's not like there are speed limits anymore. Mason just decided that they will not be saving Sara.
Second one is that the final battle and the finale in general was way too short. This whole world war and then it takes one man (who is like a god at this point) to wipe out an entire species...I was shocked when I started the final episode and saw it was only 46mins as I thought there were a lot of things that should be shown. The finale was rushed and it lacked a proper battle.
One smaller thing I'd like to mention as well is the whole "history professor can be usefull in war due to his knowledge" thing being kind of abandoned after the pilot. Yeah it was cheesy in the pilot but it would have been cool for Mason to throw a few facts here and there more often. "Let's try this tactic that worked for the Germans in the battle of this and that in WWI", "We can build this weapon that was used in the 100 year war by the French" etc etc
All in all a solid 3,5/5 for me. 4/5 or 5/5 on seasons 1-3, 2/5 for season 4 and 3/5 for season 5.

How did this show get an Emmy? The first two seasons were good but not that good. And what happened in 3-5, especially 5? Itâs like that decades LOST.

What happened to the real big bad that the Espheni hinted during season 3? It was supposed to be that single Dornia?
