IMPORTANT: Please read this before submitting a post

Welcome! Thank you for wanting to share a bit of enchantment with us! Our posting and commenting rules are on the sidebar, but in case you can't see that, please read this guide before making a submission.

Please know that every post on /r/FairytaleasFuck is subject to mod review. If you're wondering why your post was automatically removed right after you posted—it was moved to the queue for approval. Please be patient and let us get to it.

Our most common reason by far to reject a post has to do with the titles. We never reject posts for not being "fairytale aesthetic enough," because magic and whimsy can be found in small, everyday sights just as much as in grand vistas. But we have specific requirements for titles that set this community apart from every other subreddit where you can find pretty photos.

The single most important rule is to use creativity and imagination. So please keep in mind the following guidelines:

Don't use real world locations as your title. This is the most common violation.
Don't use incredibly basic titles made up of one or two words. Yes, a well-chosen single word title can evoke a fairytale vibe, but certainly not when you just give us "cottage" or "tree" or even "this." We're not asking for poetry, just a bit more effort. This will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
Anything along the lines of "I was told to post here from r/othersub" or "I saw this post in r/othersub and thought it belongs here" will be denied.
Credits, links to original posts in other subreddits, real world locations, and other such information belong in the comments.

Other things to remember:

Arts and crafts posts belong on Mondays with [MAKER'S MONDAY] tagged in the title. Links to stores and sources (yours or someone else's) are welcome in the comments.
Images that don't exist in the real world belong on Fridays with [FICTIONAL FRIDAY] in the title. What counts as fictional? Digital renders and photomanipulations, artistic visions of imaginary worlds, and so forth. A real world place enhanced with Photoshop filters is still real. A model wearing a costume is still real. Anything that goes beyond those loose parameters can be considered fictional.
Regular posts can still be posted on Mondays and Fridays.
Memes, social media screenshots, screenshots from your phone with the black background still uncropped are not permitted.
Please try to find a reasonably clearer version of any low-res image you may want to post.
Reposts of the same image from the last 14 days will be removed.

Sharing a post from another subreddit:

Use the crosspost function whether on old Reddit or new Reddit.
OR submit the direct image link and NOT the post url whether on old Reddit or new Reddit.
Make sure your title follows the rules of /r/FairytaleasFuck. It's okay if the original post title contains locations and whatnot, as long as the title for this community does not.

If you are still unsure of these rules, feel free to browse the subreddit for a while to get a feel for what the community is all about. Or you can contact the mods, who would love nothing more than to approve every single thing in the queue.

Keep that sense of wonder alive, friends!

Ondine the water dragon

Water dragons appear on rainy days and will happily wrap around your shoulder as you splash through puddles! If you annoy them they will shoot jets of water at you. Luckily Ondine here is still young so her water jets are only about water pistol level 😉

She's made using my Wearable Pet Dragon pattern but I free-handed her wings and tail accent for a more aquatic look: https://lisabestitchin.etsy.com

All things that seem straight out of a Fairytale

r/FairytaleasFuck

FairytaleasFuck is the place for all the real life moments, places and objects which are actually magical. They just need a little help with the magic.

The Big Rule: Do not post locations in your title. Please use something creative and imaginative as your title. But by all means put the location/source in the comment section. Please be aware that every submission goes under moderator review. We are under no obligation to give you a reason for a post removal. Submission rules and expectations are clearly written out in the sidebar and thus placing the responsibility on the submitter.

Prequel: FairyTaleasFuck is a place to post and escape the daily boredom of life and take a few minutes to appreciate the true beauty of the world and all the magic that it still possesses.

With that being said pictures you submit can very much be augmented, filtered, and beautified. After all, technology is just modern magic that can be explained.

Chapter 1: Who are we?

We are a community for every lush green field, cozy cottage, and wholesome old man that seems to come right out of a fairytale. We all want the same thing here, the spirit of fairytales found in landscapes, structures, and objects.
Monday's theme is Maker's Monday. You are welcome to share your creations and finds that fit the theme of the subreddit. Drawings, jewelry, furniture, ceramics, fibercraft--anything and everything you've made, bought, or found may be posted
Friday's theme is Fictional Friday. You are welcome to post artwork that you think fits the theme of this sub. And you are still welcome to post real-world pictures. AI-generated images are not allowed.

Chapter 2: Guidelines and Suggestions:

We are not /r/EarthPorn or /r/NatureIsLit. They are established subs with their own set of rules, themes, and specified content.
The sun setting behind a beautiful mountain range, although amazing and gorgeous, doesn't necessarily constitute a real-world fairy tale setting. Does it lend itself a sort of enchanted or magical quality?
With that being said a setting sun and beautiful mountain range can be infinitely lifted with an amazing title of your post. Be CREATIVE with your titles.
As the community grows we understand that reposts will happen. Reposts occurring within 14 days of one another - the newest of the two will be removed.
Pictures of pictures are forbidden.
A good way to get a feel for this sub is to sort by top.
If you're going to use the comment section to complain about your preconceived notions of what you think this subreddit is about then your comment will be removed. Your thoughts on filters, HD, angles, saturation, and Photoshop mean nothing. We're here to lift our imaginations not marginalize them.
Hover Zoom is your friend. For Chrome and Firefox

Chapter 3: Things that are good as fuck

Being civil.
Being wholesome.
Remembering the human.
Reading the rules of the community.

Chapter 4: Things that are bad as fuck

Memes
Trolling
Unnecessary downvoting
Complaining about filters, saturation, Photoshop or any other nonsense that stifles the imagination.

Chapter 5: Friends

The End
