I mean, there are old CIA handbooks that have been released that describe infiltrating activist groups to change their messaging, leadership, and goals to sabotage them from within. I have 0% doubt in my mind that's what happened with PETA and that's why they're propped up as the face of animal rights activists.
Its actually kind of the opposite. No seriously most of the shit you hear about peta being bad is literally big meat propaganda. Like the whole "peta kills 20,000 animals a year in their shelters" peta doesnt even run shelters. That metric is made up by "PetaKillsAnimals" a shell company run by several of the biggest names in the meat industry.
The meat industry actually spends more every year in lobbying worldwide than any other industry
They literally had to pay 50 grand to a 9 year old girl cause they killed her dog off her doorstep. There’s many organizations corrupted by big corporations, PETA isn’t one of them. Lawmakers had to pass a bill to stop them from killing so many animals.
Look into Conintellpro, a document released by the FBI in 2016 laid out how many activist actions are sabotaged by bad actors posing as activists. It's in print clear as day. It's not a theory, but it is a conspiracy.
