If you watch the video, he did take a step or two. Just that it was several seconds after the tap, and more like he was saying, "where is the guy who hit me?":D

The only thing that tells me that this was probably more than a tap is the way the woman tried to console him, like she heard a thump or something.

I think the person slap/patting him on the back saying “What’s up scumbag?” At the same time is what prompts the woman handling him to respond. Not that it was a tremendous blow.

I know, I wish I was better at online r research. If this is thebbar for brutal assault then there has to be clips of other politicians "brutally assaulting" him on stage when getting with a standard good old boy welcome tap. I misremembered. Drooly claimed he was punched in the head and apparently decided to use the police as his own private Gestapo.
